It had been a week since Achans death, and Anne had just ended a meeting concerning the war. As She walked out of the room she was deep in thought, when all of a sudden she saw one of the noble men named Zerick approching her.
"Your Majesty" He said as he bowed lowly.
. Anne raised her hand gestering him to rise.
"I need not tell you of the trouble concernig Ireland."
"No you need not," Was Anne's reply, "My mind has been on this matter."
"Well," He said smiling, "Then you understand that we need to make a agreement with a nation. And if Your Majesty will heed my advice I would tell thee that my first choice would be England."
"Your words are not in vain," Smiled Anne "For I have also thought in this manner, in fact I was on my way this very minute to make arangments for my departure."
"Excellent!" He exclaimed "Then I shall bid you farewell, my lady."
And with that be bowed and left.
The following morning Anne made ready to leave for England, she would go on a boat which was about a two weeks journey, and then spend a week in England and in that time she would descuse the matter of a treaty with Queen Elisabeth. When Anne arrived in England she was welcomed by the royal noblemen. One amoung them was named Edward Cummons. He was a gentle looking fellow about eighteen, with a kind face, blue eyes, and brown hair. As Anne was admiring the young man a short fat jolly fellow steped forward and with a sweeping gesture he quieted the crowed that had gathered around to see the queen. The man bowed a sort of bow. It was'int a bow really it was more like he lowered his head. While he was doing this he leaned to far forwards and almost fell on the ground! Anne had a hard time conceling her laugh.
"My lady! He said after recovering from his fall, "My name is Tomas Moor, my companions and I (as he said this he gestured towards his friends) have come to take you to the palace."
"Thank you!" Replied Anne, "Your kindness is overwhelming."
The crowed then began to cheer. Tomas held his hand up, and the crowed hushed.
"Well then shall we descend?"
With that he steped forward and offered his arm to Anne. Anne put her arm in his and they began to walk towards the carrige that would take them to the palace where Queen Elisabeth waited. As the carrige rolled away the crowed began cheering, Never before had they been so close to royalty, so close to perfection! When they arrived Anne stared in awe at the magnificent palace.
"There is nothing that can compare to the splendor of England!" Exclaimed Tomas.
Anne turned to him thinking about how conceited the little man was.
"No nothing!" Said Anne in forced splendor, "It's marvelous!
As she was lead through the great hall Tomas halted by a servant girl who was'int much younger then Anne.
"YOU THERE! Shouted Tomas to the girl.
"Yes sir?" She said in a shaking voice.
"You are to show Queen Anne to her quarters, IMMEDIATLY!!!"
"Yes sir."
And with that Tomas marched off first saying to Anne that he was going to inform the queen of her arrival. When he had left, the young girl was still looking at the way he had departed with fear in her eyes. Anne looked at the girl with pity.
"This way ma'am" Said the servant.
As the servant lead Anne to her quarters the girl looked in awe at the beautiful young queen.
"May I ask yer highness a question?" Said she.
"You may. But please will you not tell me your name?"
"Mary, ma'am!" Said the girl in delight.
"Well then, Mary," Said Anne smiling, "You are aloud to ask me any number of questions!"
"I thank you kindly ma'am" Said Mary beaming.
"Now tell me have you any brothers or sisters?"
"A brother." Replied Mary.
"And what is his name might I ask?"
"Fergus, ma'am." She said.
"Well then with that settled, what is it you wish to ask me?"
"Well my lady, I was just a wondering what is it like being rich and having money and clothes?"
Anne stopped in her tracks, then she thought of what it felt like to be rich. I hate it, I have no joy nor peace. She then looked at Mary and thought of her own servant Margret. I haven't been kind to her at all, I've been ever so selfish! I've never regarded her feelings. Oh how I wish I were back home so I could tell her how sorry I am.
"Ma'am?" Said Mary, she was disturbed by the long silence, "My lady are you alright?" She said a little louder.
"Yes I'm alright. I'm sorry that I was so deep in thought, I was thinking about your question. And this is the only answer I can think of...... I hate money! I don't feel love or anything of that sort, I'm just lonely. And I learned that it is not what satisfies me. "But Mary," She said after a pause. "why do you ask?"
"Well I just wondered. But it doesn't matter. Ah, here we are!
As she said this she opened a door that led to a comfy little room that was a pearl white, it had a settee by a window, and by the chair there was a small table with a book on it and a lamp was lit. The bed was large with a silk blanket ( and the pillow cases and sheets were satin) that was pink and gold. There was a night stand with a lamp that was beautiful! And also a letter. The letter was addressed to her! Anne opened the letter as she sat on the settee. and it read.
Dear Queen Anne,
Welcome to England! I hope you like your room that I had the servants prepare for you. But enough of that. You must come to the second parlor at once! There I shall be waiting for you. Do not keep me waiting long!
Yours truly, Queen Elizabeth.
Anne quickly put down the letter and asked Margret to help her change and brush her hair. When they were through Anne asked Margret to show her where the second parlor was.
"Right this way ma'am!" Was Margret's reply.
"Thank you" Was all Anne said.
They walked down a hall to a great oak door. Anne had never before seen a door of such beauty! But she could not admire it for long, for Margret began to say something.
"Please wait on moment milady"
When Margret finished speaking she opened the great door and announced that "Queen Anne had arrived."
And with that a gentle voice said "Well then show her in!"
