I was in the middle of my sleep when my phone rang. I wiggled out of Harry's arms, and an unknown number came on my screen. "Hello?" My sleepy voice asks. "Miss Carmen? Is this her?" A female voice rang.

"Yes, it's her." I say, sitting up on my bed. "Can you please report to The St. Rose hospital please?" She tells. "Can I ask why?" I say, getting up to my dresser and putting on sweats and a t-shirt.

"Your mother has been in a car accident-" before she says the rest I drop my phone and stand frozen. "Carmen? What happened?" Harry asks, putting on his boxers. "M-my mum." Was all I could say.

After I snapped out of it, Harry and I drove to the hospital. I ran to the lady behind the desk. "Can I ask where my mum is??" I said, trying to catch my breath. "Are you Carmen?" The last asks. "Yes." I say.

"Your mother is on floor 4, room 201." The lady smiles. I grab Harry's hand who was standing behind me. We reached the elevator and when we reached the floor, I immediately looked for room 201.

I began to open the door, but a hand stopped me. "Carmen calm down, she's probably sleeping. You don't want to intrude." Harry says in a calming voice. I step back and take breaths. Harry soothing rubs my back.

"Thank you Harry, do you wanna step inside?" I ask. "No, go ahead. I'll stay here." Harry smiles. "Are you sure?" Harry nods. I smile and hug him before opening the door.

My mum lays, with a bruised eye, a cast on her left leg resting on a pillow. She has bandages here and there, her arms in a cast also. It was quiet, the only sound that was making was the heart monitor.

I sit down on a chair, and start to tear. I hated seeing my mum like this. Who would like too? I started to sob, my mum was my everything. Even my brothers. I don't see them much, because they mostly stay at my neighbors'.

A doctor steps in, and notices my appearance. "Are you miss Greenwell?" The doctor asks. I nod while wiping my tears. "I'm doctor Bennet-" he says, taking out his hand to shake. I shake hands, "I'm Carmen. Amy's daughter." I say, calling my mum by her first name. Doctor Bennett smiles. "Will you step outside with me for a moment?" I nod.

Once I step outside, I notice Harry wasn't here. There was paper where was sitting, but I'll bother to read it after. Doctor Bennett takes out his clipboard and reads some papers.

"Your mother, Amy, is in serious coma. But we do know she'll be here for a good 6 months." I get wide-eyed. "6 months without my mother? I have two little brothers to take care of!" I exclaim. "I'm sorry Carmen. Your mother was hit hard. Her leg was bashed, hit a good fracture of her muscle. We noticed her black eye, we probably think that she hit it on the wheel or something, but Amy is bruised a quite amount of times." Bennett explains. I nod. "Her arm was hurt badly, and we may probably need some surgery here and there."

I sit in the chair, frozen of what he just told me. "I'll leave you alone Miss Greenwell." Bennett walks down the hall, disappearing.

I won't have my mother around for 6 months. I can't take care of my two brothers alone, especially with school and stuff. I need to survive without my mother, but I can't get used to it. I won't.

Tears rapidly flow down my cheeks, not knowing what I'll do. I remembered there was a paper. I picked it up and read it,

Carmen, love, I went down to the lunch area. If you need anything, call me. xo Harry

I needed Harry right now. I needed his comfort. I searched all over for my phone, then remembered I left it on the floor in my room. I picked up myself and walked toward the elevator. Once I reached ground level, I searched for the cafeteria.

I saw Harry at an angle, munching on a bagel, and sipping on what I think apple juice. I walked toward his direction. When Harry saw me, he dropped everything down and ran to me.

"Love are you alright?" Harry asks, looking into my eyes. I nod and point to the table. I sat across from Harry. "What happened?" Harry asked, eating his bagel, he offered me, I denied.

I explained to him everything of what dr Bennett told me. His mouth hung open. "Carmen I'm so sorry." Harry coos, hugging me by my side. I tear, "Don't be sorry Harry. It was an accident. Can we go home now? I'll come back tomorrow morning." I state. Harry nods.

Once we get in the car, my eyes trail to the time. 4:28. Dang, I bet I look like crap. Baggy eyes. Once we got in the house, I got to the couch and fell asleep.
