Chapter 17 : No

I visited my mum in the morning, first thing. Harry stayed behind and watched my two little brothers. It was becoming a daily thing now, I'd bring her things she'll need from home, like extra needs or something.

"Honey go home, I'll be fine." My mum coos. It was my fifth time going, and I'd come early during dawn. "No mum, it's fine, really. Harry's watching the little two." I said. My mum doesn't say anything as she lays back and rests. "I'm going to grab breakfast, I'll be right back." I said. My mum nods.

Miranda, the nurse I've known for a while, saw me leave my mums room. "How is she?" Miranda asks. "She's resting more and more everyday." I sigh, not knowing if it's a good thing or not. "Oh I'll see whats up. Where are you headed?" Miranda asks.

"Down to get some food, want to join?" I ask. "No, I just ate, thanks." Miranda smiles, as she gets back to work. I laugh and walk to the elevator. I get to the cafeteria, and no ones here in the morning except some doctors going out for a coffee.

I grabbed an apple and a juice, and got some cinnamon rolls. Once I paid and sat down, I took my phone out and started to text Harry.

C : Good morning love xx

H : Hey, morning :) how's your mum? xxxh

C : She's getting more rest everyday, I dunno if it's a bad sign? Xx

H : sorry I don't know love. Xxx

C : are the little 2 awake? X

H : nope, still sleeping. It's only five babe, remember? ;) xxx

C : Lol, sorry. Did I wake you?

H : No, I have been watching the Telly when you left xxx

C : I thought you were sleeping! Xxx

H : No, but thanks for the kiss ;* xxx

C : LMAO ;)

H : Hey love, I got to go xx

C : alright, text me later bye xx

H : bye

I finished everything, and headed back upstairs. Doctor Bennett and Miranda stood in front of the door with no expressions. "Something wrong?" I ask, getting confused.

"Carmen dear, when your mother was sleeping she-" Miranda started. No. She can't. "WHAT HAPPENED TO MY MUM!" I shouted, pushing through them as Bennett held me back. I can't lose my mum, she's barely 45, I can't lose her now.

"Carmen, Sh, Sh." Doctor Bennett cooed. "My mum." I whispered, tears shooting down my face. "C-c-can I see her?" I choked, I could barely talk. Doctor Bennett nodded.

I opened the door slowly. My mum laid there, no needles attached or anything. She was more pale then she was before. I gently touched her skin, she was cold. I can't believe I lost her, I didn't get to tell her how much I love her.

I cried silently in the room. Once I was done, I pulled out my phone. It was already noon. I decided to call Harry. It answered after the second ring. "Hey love! What are you up to?" Harry's happy voice says.

"H-Harry?" I choke. "What's wrong love?" Harry asks. "My mum." I breathed, "She's gone." Harry didn't say anything for a few seconds. "I'm going down there." He states and hung up. I decided to stay here until he showed up.
