Chapter 12: Surprise Meet

The next day I woke up feeling new. I no longer felt sick; I was really ready to go back to school. As soon as I opened my eyes, and stood up I noticed every little detail. There was my magazine on top of my red dresser, with a little turquoise flower on top. I opened my bedroom window, welcoming the sun into my room. I suddenly felt the cold breeze embrace me. Spring was arriving, so I decided to wear a dress. The dress was all green with navy blue stripes, and I wore my green flats. The weather was sure going to be nice today. I went downstairs, and saw my mom cooking breakfast. My little sisters were already awake, and my big bro was there too. He was finally going back to school. It had been a week since he returned from Italy.

“Hey lil’sis” Francesco said

“Oh hey bro” I said while giving him a light punch on the shoulder

“Ready for school?” he said with a nervous tone

“Yeah, why?” I asked all confused

“Well, because I’ve been in Italy.””

“Look, everything is going to be alright, ok?”

“Does my English accent still sound, umm good?”

“Hahaha, yes why?” I had to admit that made me chuckle.          

“Well, in Italy, the only language I spoke was Italian.”

“Well, it does, and don’t worry everything will be alright.” I gave him a small smile to assure him

I was heading out the door, when he said, “Thank you very much.”

“You are welcome very much.”

It felt very awkward talking to my brother Francesco. It’s not that we never talk or anything, it’s just that every time we talked we had those immature brotherly/sisterly moments. Right now was a moment to cherish. As I walked to school, I had been thinking a lot lately.  Lie was moving up pretty fast, and I felt like I had to do something, I was still deciding, but I hoped my decision wouldn’t ruin my friendship with Asa. He really was a great guy. When I arrived to school, as I was entering I saw some guy whom I recognized a lot in the office, he seemed new to this school though. I was walking away when the office lady called my name.

“Morcaldi” shoot and I wanted to make a run for it, but unfortunately I didn’t.

“I want you to give…Robert, here a tour around the school.”

I looked up to him, he was smiling. He was wearing a button up shirt with jeans and some converse. His hair was slick and kind of messy in a way. He had big brown eyes, and was tall. Then I realized he wouldn’t stop staring at me.

“Umm, you’re Clariss right?”

“yeah” I said with a smile

“I am Robert”

“Cool”

He kept staring at me. I was getting kind of creeped out. For the rest of the morning, during first period I waited and waited for Asa. Surprisingly, he didn’t come. Of course, that for the rest of the day I was to be with Robert. He was very sweet, and everything but the creepy, annoying kind of sweet. During math class he sat right next to me which I didn’t enjoy that one bit,, after all that was Asa’s seat!  But oh well, he wasn’t here anyways. When lunch came, I wasn’t very famished so I just grabbed a Gatorade to refresh myself. When I least expect it, there was Robert in front of me,, staring at me.

“Hello there!” he said with a smile

“Hey”

“How are you?”
