    Connecting the call, there was silence followed by Keira's voice.

    "What's up?" I answer her, looking at Tereny who was now looking at me with sad eyes. I don't know if she did it intentionally, but just watching my wife's face go from full of excitement because we were just about to get it in to sadness because she knows my baby's mama is on the other end of my line...it hurt me.

    "Hey, Bruce...Yasmin's come down with a fever and I really need a ride to the store to get something for her to take. My car won't crank and I can't get in touch with my mom. I was able to put her to sleep and all, but I know she's going to be cranky when she wakes up. She's so warm. I don't know what to do." Keira sounded desperate and just hearing her pleading voice and seeing my wife's face, I just wanted to crash.
