Chapter 20

Naina's P.O.V

"Rohan come on we need to go and meet everyone for dinner!" I shouted from the bedroom. Rohan was in the bathroom and I was waiting for him.

"Naina I don't feel well." He said walking out of the bathroom.

"What's wrong, is it a stomach ache, head ache! Shall I go and get some medicine?"

Rohan's P.O.V

"What's wrong, is it a stomach ache, head ache! Shall I go and get some medicine?" I wasn't sick, I just couldn't go down! Heer would be there and then the secret would be out.

Heer called me quite a lot but I ignored every phone call. All because of that night with Naina!

"No im just not feeling it." She frowned at me, if I wasn't so annoyed by her attention, I would have found it cute.

"Rohan, please just eat and then come up, you don't even have to speak." Why can't she just understand that I don't want to go!

"Naina please." I said through gritted teeth.

"No Rohan, your coming and I won't take no for an answer!" She grabbed my arm and pulled me to the door.

Authors P.O.V

Naina opened the door, but before she could walk out, Rohan slammed it shut. He shook her off his arm and she bumped into the door.

"What is your problem, just leave me! Why can't you understand that I don't want to go down!" He yelled, suddenly memories of him and Heer flashed through his head, he couldn't take it!

"Rohan I ju-" but he stopped her, by putting his hand up.

"Don't Naina don't, don't try and persuade me because it's not gonna work!" He said more calmly.

Her eyes were filled with tears, Rohan imediately regretted what he had done, but before he could apologise, she was already gone.

"What have I done?!" He thought, slamming his hand on the door.

Naina's P.O.V

I quickly rushed out of the door, before he could say anything else.
What has gotten into him?

I turned the corner only to bump into someone. I descended to the ground and landed with a thump. I stood up and saw the person who I had collided with was the last person I needed to see today. The person who is always there when I need someone, the person who's presence makes me feel right. Just being around him makes me feel free, like I'm about to drop but rise up with full fledged wings, ready to take on the world. But it was all wrong!

"Naina?" Why did my name sound so beautiful coming from his lips, when he says my name I feel refreshed.

"Yes Prem?" I replied, biting back the tears.

"Uh um, uncle asked me to...uh...call you and,um, Rohan." He stuttered and scratched the back of his neck. 'Rohan' even his name made a couple of tears fall from my eyes, the tears I was trying so hard to hold back. I turned away from him to wipe the tears.

"Naina are you okay?" He asked, touching my shoulder. My instinct was to push his hand away but his touch was so soothing. It was getting too much for me, this had to stop, so I turned back to him this compelled him to remove his hand.

"Um no its nothing. Let's go down!" I said, forcing a smile. It was the most uncomfortable feeling, trying to pretend that you are happy.

"Naina. I know your lying, just tell me, maybe I can help." He stated rather than asking. I wanted to tell him, I was dying to, but I just couldn't. It was between me and my husband.
'My husband' who should have been here trying to make up with me, but instead I was here with someone else.

"Who are you to know I'm lying. I am not lying, so there is nothing to help with!" But he just stared at me. I was done, I couldn't take it. I walked away, towards the lift, I knew he was following me.

"Naina!" He called. I closed my eyes and rotated to face him.

"What!?" However before I could carry one, his arm slipped around my waist and in one swift movement our bodies were pressed against each other.

"Prem." I said softly, I was in shock of what was happening. I was also in awe. People say that there is nothing special about brown eyes, but these eyes were different, they weren't the colour of chocolate but of a leather book, these eyes promised a story of everlasting love, loyalty and devotion. No matter how hard I tried to look away I couldn't, I was reading a book in his eyes and I didn't want it to end.

"Why do you do this?" I asked still mesmerised by his eyes.

"Do what?" He asked.

"Make me feel like this." His eyes! I couldn't stop, I needed to, but I couldn't, I tried to but nothing was working!

"Like what Naina?" Our faces were so close, I couldn't move away, his hot breath fanned over my face, I felt like I was in heaven, I had only one word to describe my state of mind, there was no other word that could describe how I was feeling all together.

"Happy!" I breathed, he chuckled, and I suddenly broke out of my trance.

"I-I'm sorry! I have to go!"

Prem's P.O.V

"I-I'm sorry! I have to go!" She ran back towards her room.

Prem you idiot what is your problem!

This just started out as harmless flirting, how has it turned into love!?

You can't be with her, your poles apart.

She is a loyal married woman, while your a womanising business tycoon! She has her own life in England and you have yours in America. She has her own family and you have yours, although I'm not sure about this special cousin?

Everything about this is wrong!

But then again isn't that what love is?

I cleared my head and went down to the dining hall.

"Prem beta, where is Naina and Rohan?" Uncle asked.

"Um Rohan isn't feeling well so Naina is staying with him, she will order room service." He nodded and I took although I'm seat. Just as Heer walked in.

"So Naina babhi isn't coming to dinner at all?" Kavya asked and I nodded.

"What? Naina isn't coming for dinner, I hope she is okay. I'm gonna go check on her after dinner." Heer said.

"You know Naina?" I asked her, and she nodded.

"Yeh bhai, I met her at lohri!" I nodded and we started eating.

Oh Naina!
