Nightmare

Your trembling finger pushed the dial button on your phone. The phone beeped several times before connected to the person at the end of the line. You swallowed the imaginary bolus in your throat as you wait for the man to speak.

"Hello?" His voice broke the silence.

"Um.. Hello."

"[F/name], why did you call me? Don't you know what time is it now?" He sounded pissed off but with a flavor of sleepy which made it sounds rather sexy.

You looked at the clock hanging on the wall. 0209. In the morning. It sounds crazy but you couldn't help yourself from the curiosity that you couldn't get a sleep at all since the past four hours. Which led to this unwise act you put.

"I have something important to ask you."

"It better be important."

Minutes passed as you try to arrange the words in the most understandable form. "Do you like me?" You asked innocently without knowing that the guy on the other side was already jumping out of his bed after hearing it.

"W-what kind of question is that??" He stuttered, fully awake now.

"Just answer it. Do you like me or not?"

"Why should I answer to that? Stop playing around nanodayo."

"But I'm not." It went silent again before you continued. "Never mind, Shintaro-kun. Forget it. This is just a dream. Go back to sleep now. Good night."

"Wait, [F/name]-"

You ended the call before the guy managed to finish his sentence. You heaved a sigh as you stared blankly to the call log.

"What was I'm thinking? That was so embarrassing. Argh I'm so stupid!! STUPIDD!!!" You screamed from the top of your lung which results to a panic call from your mom downstairs.

The bell rang signing the time for recess. You walked back and forth and back and forth at the doorway, reconsidering whether to go or not.

"[F/name]-san, let's go!" Kaname appeared from behind.

"I'm sorry, Kaname-san. I couldn't join you guys today. I have to help Shigure-sensei with something. Can you please bring this to them?" You handed the lunch bag.

"Sure. I'll be going then. See ya."

You watched her go then you headed to your other secret place with a bundle of books. Yeah, being alone all this while had led you to the discoveries of places that other people would never think of going. And of course you're not helping Shigure-sensei because there's no such person in your school. It was just an excuse. Luckily Kaname didn't caught you lying. You just want to avoid seeing him, and him for the mean time.

Suddenly it became lonely again. You ate your melon bread slowly as tears began to fill your eyes. You've gotten used to have people around you that it felt so awkward to be with just you all over again.

The recess passed quietly until the bell rang again and you're already on your way to return to your classroom. However, halfway there you caught the sight of the duo from afar. Quickly you changed your direction to avoid from running into them. But you didn't know that he actually saw you.

Guyssss!!! I'm telling you, there's only two to three more chapters before this book ends. Maybe by the end of this month. And when it's done, I'll start a new original entitled 'How to Make Senpai Notices'. And of course, there will be a bit about basketball there >_<
