The music blasted into my ears and I pulled the blanket up so it covered my chin. Black Veil Brides' music soaked through my body and soul. I felt a little numb.
Once the song had finished, I took out a cigarette and lit it, looking around my bedroom. The black walls had posters of various bands like 'Bring Me The Horizon' and 'Motionless In White.' Damn I love those guys.
Also, in the corner, there was a small Legend of Zelda poster. Okay, so I may as well just open up completely to you. I'm secretly emo, and secretly a huge nerd and gamer. It's all a secret because my friends would laugh at me. No one gets me anyway, so it doesn't matter. People think that I drink and smoke to rebel against the rules. That's why my friends do it anyway. I do it to relieve stress and forget everything.
Only Annika and Jordan, my two closest friends know about my emo side.
Trudging over to the window and stubbing out my cigarette, I watched it spiral down as I threw it down out of the house.
In a way, I guess I'm spiralling down too.
Ugh. Too many deep thoughts. I caught my reflection in the window's glass. My emerald eyes stared back at me, blinking in a confused manner. Strewn all over my forehead, my dark brown hair was completely messed up.
Sighing, I bit my lip and collapsed back onto my bed. I checked the time on my phone. It was 9:00 in the evening. Damn, time goes so slowly. There was a knock on the door, and I heard my mum go to answer it. "Yo! Mrs M!" I heard the familiar voice of Jordan. "Alex in?"
"Yeah he's upstairs. I don't believe I've met you two before...?" My mum said quizzically.
"I'm Annika and this is my cousin Ebony." I heard Annika's voice. Who's Ebony?
"Ah, hi. Alex is upstairs." Mum said warmly.
Footsteps thudded up the stairs and my door burst open. "Alex!" Jordan leapt onto me, hugging me tightly. "My love!"
"Hey, dude." I chuckled, pushing him off of me. When I saw the girl standing next to Annika, I felt my body cease up with excitement. "You!" Ebony's face looked a little shocked.
"You alright?" Annika giggled.
"Yeah." I smirked. "I'm okay."
"This is my cousin by the way. She's called Ebony." Annika stepped forward out of Ebony's sight and rolled her eyes, signalling that she didn't like her. "So... Jordan and I have news." Annika smiled.
"Oh yeah?" I raised my eyebrows.
"We're dating again!" Jordan answered for her.
"Whoa. Congrats!" I grinned. My two best friends used to date on and off for a year, but they hadn't dated for about six months. "So it must be pretty official." I smiled at Annika.
"Hell yeah." She laughed. "So the reason we came here... Um, my mum wanted me to stay with Ebony, but Jordan and I were going on a date. Can you keep her here for like, five hours?"
"S-Sure..." I stammered.
"Great. Thanks bro." Jordan said.
"She won't do much, she's basically a mute." Annika whispered to me.
And with that, I was left alone in the house with the most mysterious girl in the world.
