*Ebony's POV*

Knock knock.

I heard someone knocking at the door downstairs. Whatever. The last few days I hadn't cared about anything. I'd just been laying in my room staring at the blank ceiling. It fits well together, my feelings are blank too.

"Hi. Is Ebony in?" I heard Alex's voice. My heart leapt.

I stood up and tried desperately to break down my locked door. "I'm up here!" I yelled.

"Was that her voice?" Alex asked downstairs.

"No. It wasn't. Hold on while I see if she wants to talk." My mum said sternly. I heard her feet bang up the stairs and I begged inside my chest for her to let me see him.

I heard a whisper through the door.  "You're never seeing him again,  Ebony.  Listen to his voice for the last time."

"Mum..." I started choking on my own tears.  "Please..."

"Sorry Alex. She doesn't want to see you ever again." My mum said to him.

I heard a sniff. "What?" Alex whispered.

"Sorry. I'll see you around." My mum sighed.

"Alex! I'm here!"  I called desperately.  My dad hit on the door to silence me. "I love you! Please!"

Next door,  in his bedroom, my dad turned his music up to drown out my screams. "Alex..."  The large, blood filled ball inside my chest stopped beating and exploded, leaking blood and sorrow throughout my body.

I collapsed onto the floor,  feeling my tears throttle me.  "Alex..."

Faintly, I heard the door downstairs shut. Shutting out what taught me to live my life to the full. "I love you..."  I mumbled.

Choking, drowning, trying to swallow. I collapsed onto my knees. My dad turned the music down and I started sobbing and struggling to breathe. Listening carefully, I heard voices.

I ran to my window, and desperately tried to open it. My mum had locked it earlier that day, but maybe I could break it open.

My fingers started spouting scarlet blood all over my arms because of the force I was applying to the window lock. I could see Alex and Jordan standing by their car, talking. Alex was crying.

"Alex!" I screamed through the shut window. "I'm here! I didn't break up with you! Please, hear me!"

I started losing my voice and I could feel my breaths getting shallower. "Jordan! I'm here!" I screamed. Jordan looked around. He heard me!

"Jordan I didn't want to break up with him!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. He shrugged and got in the car, followed by Alex. He must have

No!

"Come back!" My now hoarse voice croaked. The car drove off. I collapsed on the floor and started panting. My mum came in. She kneeled down next to me.

"It's for your own good Ebony." She said softly. She helped me to my bed and sat next to me as I lay down. "I know how you feel. Before you were born, your father had to move away with his family, so we broke up. However, two years later he ran away to find me."

"But that won't happen to me." I had no energy left to cry.

"Well. He wasn't the love of your life was he? Anyway, I've packed your bags for you. I'm driving you up to your new school tomorrow." She shrugged.
