Genny thought she had already experienced the pinnacle of stress, and annoyance. She was wrong.
She had been locked away in this cylindrical prison for a bit over a a few days now. It was still only her and Gratuity, who insisted she be called by her nickname, Tui.
"It's what my family calls me, and since you're my friend you can call me that too." Tui insisted.
"Okay, sounds fair enough, my name's too long for most people to say anyway." She laughed.
"Genny?" She questioned.
"My full name is Genevieve." She explained.
"Really? You must have interesting parents. My name roughly translates to mean gift."
Genny glanced down at the floor. "I don't remember my parents."
Tui's smile fell. "Oh, then where have you been living this whole time? Surely not here alone, I would have gone insane."
Genny shook her head. "There's a special school for kids like us, I was kidnapped just a little before you were."
"So that's where Will turned up, good, my mother was so worried for him." Tui shook her head gratefully.
There was a rough grating sound, and both of the girls were startled out of the deathly silence that they had become used to. Two very large men walked in, one holding a small limp little girl, the other barely straining to keep a tall, yet skinny boy who fighting hard from capture.
The first one dumped the little girl in one of the small cramped rooms and left. The other took hold of the boy's ankle, much to his protest and clicked a small band on it. Then pushed him roughly to the floor and left, the door sliding shut behind them. The young man in question had dull, short, blonde hair and was wearing the same white attire all of them had on. He seethed, then took one look at them before bursting out in anger.
"Where am I?" He demanded.
Genny pointed silently at the impossible-to-miss, giant letters on the wall.
He sniffed. "Speechless huh? I've never received a poorer welcome in my life!"
"Ha, welcome to the Lab wishbone." Tui snorted.
His face grew a dark red color. "Pesky girls, it was difficult enough trying to stay away from that sideshow freak on the way here, she's grotesque."
Genny stood up and walked calmly into the room with the little girl. She was wearing a white shirt that was a few sizes to big for her and long pants. The girl had long and curly brown hair and light skin with a dash of freckles across her nose. She was wearing a similar anklet to the one each of them had on. Genny had already figured out that messing with it earned you an electric shock. Other than that nothing seemed to strange about the little girl, who only looked about eight years old.
"That's extremely rude." Genny commented back.
"I'll say what I want and there's nothing you can do about it." He growled.
"Say that to my face and you'll regret it." She shot back.
"Oh yeah? I do what I want and you can't stop me."
She cracked her knuckles and raised her fists. "I warned you."
He tried to copy her pose but it was obvious he had never fought a day in his life. He tried to run at her with his fists raised, but at the last second she ducked and tripped him. She briefly felt his intense fear, her eyes turning purple. He went flying and hit his jaw on the concrete floor. She didn't feel sorry and when he spat out some blood and a tooth.
