The group of five walked in the forest as the sun started to set. The trees seemed to be endless, and a thick fog started to rise to their knees. A heavy silence was weighing on their shoulders as it slowly started to become awkward. Jenna, who had started to get anxious from the eerie surroundings, looked up in the sky to search for the moon, but the tall dark branches coveted the sky from them, keeping the weak rays from the moon from illuminating their paths. She wondered how beautiful this place would look with the trees filled with bright green leaves, and wild flowers growing at their roots, but this place seemed to have its life drained, even in the early fall. Her wold nervously scouted the woods, searching for a soul other than her friends, but it was empty as far as her ears could hear.
This place was everything but normal.
The forest was so silent, no rivers, no running critters, and no birds chirping except for the occasional crow who would croak as they flew away. "Nicholas, I think we are lost." Jenna whispered, her voice muffled by her fear.
"And I don't care what you think." He snapped at her."Well, I think we won't find anything soon, and it will take forever to find Maria, especially if we are walking in circles." She responded, pouting and crossing her arms over her chest. Nicholas stopped abruptly, and turned his glare towards her. He seemed to think for a while, then his eyes started to sparkle, warning her that he had a new devious idea.
"Oh boy, what now?" She whispered to herself."We should separate, to cover more ground." He said in a low voice, his face darkening at the other three walking behind the bantering Future Alpha and the blonde. They looked at each other, confused. Jenna nodded, and Johnny and Ally paired up, tangling their arms together. The young chef followed Nicholas, ignoring his angry snarls. The pair of mates ran to the right, and Nicholas darted to the left, with Klaus stuck to his heels, leaving Jenna to herself.
"Great... I guess I'll go this way..." She hesitantly whispered, dragging her feet towards the dirt path. She quickly shifted to her wolf form as the sun disappeared completely from the night sky. Her wide paws pummeled the ground, and she snorted sharply, steam coming out of her nostrils. Minutes later, she started to slow down, getting out of breath. She turned back to her human form, and clung to one of her swords, for reassurance. Jenna sat down, and sniffed the cold air. The intoxicating smell of burning coal and smoke filled her nostrils. She shook her head, trying to get the burning smell from out of her nose.
"Vampires." They reeked of death, and smelled constantly of cremation. Their smell would fill the lungs of werewolves, and it was nearly impossible to smell anything else than those cursed beings. Her desire for a fight peaked, and she ended up walking silently towards the vampires. She continued walking until she ended up in front of a gigantic brick wall, and a thick metal gate, with guards watching the surroundings. The sky was now completely dark, and she was easily camouflaged by the dark forest. It was odd for bats to have a hideout in the woods, who was -without a doubt- a werewolf's terrain, in which they felt most comfortable. Even if she would have the upper hand with those bats, Jenna was easily outnumbered, even if they were only newly Bitten.
She roamed the forest, straying not too far from the wall, but not too close so that the bats could notice her. They had a good view, but their ears were in a disadvantage compared to a wolf's hearing. Jenna heard voices in the distance, and started to walk towards them, curious about their identity. Distracted, she stomped on a dry root, breaking under her weight. The voices shut, and she heard footsteps coming near her. She unsheathed her second sword, and let out a powerful growl, warning the small figure running towards her. Jenna snarled, her eyes shifting to a deep red, letting the stranger know that she would not be an easy kill.
