Liam’s POV

The whole night we were up, running on strong coffee and sweets we found in the cupboard. We figured that Niall has to be somewhere in Bournemouth because that’s the only place which fits into the time zone right. The thing is we didn’t have any idea where exactly in Bournemouth. We decided that we are going to take a road trip up there in 3 days once everything’s been sorted and it’s okay for everybody to go.

Maura knows some people around there who are going to keep an eye out for Sam and Niall. They said they would go around asking people and we will put up some posters when we get there. We were so thankful to those people helping us.

Greg said he’s going up there tomorrow to start the search. I can’t see why I’m not allowed to go up with him as well. I think it’s because my mum’s making me go school for the next few days and if I’m good enough I’ll go. This is the annoying thing about mothers sometimes; they use the opportunities that are open straight away.

The next morning I was up and ready for school so fast that my mum reconsidered keeping me at home saying “it might be a bad idea”. I just ignored her and left in Louis’s car like old times. The school had heard about our plans so they weren’t as shocked when I showed up for class. The whispers had stopped but I still got a few glances.

At lunch we hid on the school field and played some football, using our bags as goals. It was like old times to be honest. Other people we use to hang out with joined in our games. The teams were 7 aside. The opposite team ended up winning though which didn’t really annoy me because I know how bad I was at kicking the ball in the right direction.

I had avoided Kaylin the whole day up until fifth lesson. I was literally dragged by her into the corner of an abandoned corridor where she interrogated me with questions and apologies. “Liam, I’m really sorry about what happened to Niall. He will turn up soon…and ….i was thinking…maybe I don’t know…you could let me help…look for him?” She awkwardly said, shifting uncomfortably from one foot to the other.

I stood there with my jaw opened wide. What the actual fuck does she think she is? She can’t come shuffling back into this. “Why?” I asked simply but meant a lot of things. She looked at me confused.

“Why what?” She asked back. Her brown hair was curled loosely around her face and her fringe blocked most of her eye sight. However, you could tell she was wearing a lot of mascara. Her eyelashes were three times as big as usual. In all honesty,  she had turned to being such a slut after she dumped Niall. Yeah, she is still partly nice, but she’s changed for the worst.

“Why do you want to help all of a sudden? Why are you interested? What’s changed in the past few weeks that’s made you want to do this? Why are you trying to be noticed? Why –“ I was cut off.

“I want to do this because I know it’s the right thing to do. I know Niall and I want to help him. And don’t worry lover boy, I’m not going after him. I’m just hoping he’ll forgive me. I made a terrible mistake and I want to make it right.” She explained sincerely.  I looked at her with a disapproving look.

“I think we’ve got enough people helping. We’re nearly onto where he is. Thank you for the offer though, it was nice of you.” I tell her. It’s nicer than saying ‘fuck off you slutty bitch, you had your chance’. Kaylin looked sad but what did she expect? That I’d lay down a red carpet for her and let her trod all over it and into my life. This is none of her business.
