Song: Prayers of the Refugee by Rise Against (really good song!)

Liam’s POV

“No! No! No! NO! Niall!” I sob as the line went dead. “I only want you.” I whisper and wipe away one or two tears. “Why?!” I felt arms go across my shoulders. It felt like my heart was being ripped in two all over again.

“Liam! It’s going to be okay! At least Niall isn’t with David. That’s the main thing. And he’s safe, it’s more than better when he’s safe.” Zayn said.

“He can’t just leave me like this. Two years Zayn! Two fucking years until we can see him again! He could be dead in two years. Or we could! I just want to see him. I want to hold him, why does this happen to us?” I whine and sniffle. Zayn patted me on the back reassuringly.

“To test your love for each other. The world wants to know how strong it is. The more you worry, the more it shows how weak you are. You need to stop worrying and believe in him when he says he’s okay. Trust is needed a lot in a relationship. If you trust him, you love him no matter what.” Zayns stupid words of wisdom always saves the bloody day! I wipe away the last of my tears.

“Ugh why do you have to be so cleaver?” I groan and stand up, everybody else following my lead. Zayn chuckled.

“Because I’m awesome like that.” He smiled.

“Where are we going now?” Louis spoke up.

“We should visit Maura to see if she’s heard anything.” Harry said. We nod in agreement and make our way over there and past the park we went to together after Niall was released from the hospital. He might have met Kaylin there but at least she’s not in the picture anymore. I hated the cow so much. I just wonder if anyone has ever seen her true colours.

When we get to the house we knock and wait outside for a few minutes. Greg answers the door and he looked really down. He noticed my tear stained face and I could tell he knew that I knew what was going on. “He called you?” She whispered slightly. We nodded and he let us, leading us to the living room where Maura sat there crying. She sees us and wipes her face free from tears. I go and hug her tightly and we stay like that, crying into each other’s shoulders.

“It’s g-going to be o-okay.” I say through tears. She was smaller than me so she had to put her head on my shoulder.

“Sam’s not going to keep him safe.” She whispers. I pull back and look at her confused.

“What do you mean?” I sniffle.

“Sam. He’s Niall’s older brother. He’s not safe at all. Sam is dangerous. He will destroy Niall within weeks. Never mind two years!” She exclaimed and moved away to find a tissue. I take her over to the sofa and sit down.

“What do you mean? How is Sam dangerous? Niall said he’s safe.” I was still confused. I think she needs to elaborate. She took a few deep breaths and began.

“When I was 17, I had Sam. He was a mistake completely. As a kid, he mixed with the wrong kinds of groups. In secondary school, he got into fights and made his own drug selling business. Greg came along when Sam was 7 and he use to beat Greg up. Sam was horrid to him. After secondary school, Sam moved out but he was arrested months after because he had raped people. He was released 7 years later. He moved away, changed his identity and left me completely. 2 years ago, he shot a man passing by on the streets and made me keep it a secret. He threatened to shoot Greg. He knew about Niall and everything. But he had never met Niall and that’s why they don’t know each other. I’m scared Sam will ruin Niall. We have no idea where they could be. And the police are stopping with the investigation to find him. They’re going to try find that Sebastian kid. Oh Liam, what are we going to do?” She finally finished.
