I was awake half of the night also waking up Michael and Ashton every so often to make sure they weren't slipping back under or anything. I couldn't stop the dream from repeating in my mind of Luke's lifeless body floating under the water across from me. It felt so real, it's scared me to pieces. Is it possible to have repetitive dreams over and over? I've thought that you could because I remember one dream that occurred to me when I was only little, of a skeleton chasing me in pitch blackness and I couldn't run fast enough, my legs slowly turning to jelly trying to sprint faster and faster but eventually woke up. Never got to witness the end of it. I almost fear going to sleep some nights, scared of what my unusual mind would come up with this time. I lie they're awake trying to think of something that makes me feel happy but the reoccurring nightmares seem to tuck their way in.
"What do you guys feel like?" I asked searching up and down the shelves of food and ingredients. No one arrived this morning, I mean it's still only 6:00am but it's starting to feel unlikely.
"Let's just have this," Ashton pulled a box of cereal from one of the shelves holding it up to show us. It was some sort of healthy stuff with nuts and oats in it. We all agreed searching through the huge stainless steel kitchen grabbing four bowls and spoons with a bottle of milk. Thankfully, Luke brought the map showing us where the cafeteria was making it a lot easier to find. We sat down at a white circle table, it felt unstable with the army green table legs it balanced on wobbling from side to side as we all sat down.
A few minutes passed, each other handing the milk to one another pouring it into their bowls, when it got to me I decided to speak up. "Do you guys remember anything from last night?" My voice came out sort of croaky, coughing hoping to make it better.
Michael and Ashton shook their heads, "I don't remember anything," Michael said taking a spoonful into his mouth, " all I remember was needing to go to the toilet then bam! I woke up on the floor in your arms."
Ashton flicked him over the head, "don't talk with your mouth full!" I giggled continuing to listen to the boys.
"So you think you just, slipped on water and crashed into one another knocking you's out?" Luke asked his elbows resting on the plastic top eating.
"I guess so? I don't know but whatever it was its scaring me," Ashton sighed.
It stayed quiet for a while, the only sound of steel cutlery clanking on glass bowls. "Sooo we're looking at computers today?" Luke piped up. I nodded taking a mouthful of cereal, it felt good to eat and stop my stomach from growling.
"We should split up into groups," Calum said scoffing his face. "Luke, Blake and Michael, you guys should go together and look through the computers. Ash and I can look at some files in the staff rooms." We all nodded finishing up our breakfast, grouping all the bowls and spoons together and chucking them the the kitchen dishwasher which was ginormous and Michael putting the milk back in the fridge. I thought we should probably start to keep a close eye on what we eat just incase we're in here for a while, although the thought made me sick, it was true.
"I want to have a shower first and get changed. These gowns are staring to stick to my body," I said grabbing the sides of the material pulling it away from my sweaty skin. I never knew how much heat they contained.
We walked back to our beds pulling out my bag from under it. I'm thankful I brought shampoo, conditioner and a razor, or else I wouldn't have been able to cope that long with hair that was turning into dreadlocks. I grabbed some track pants that I wore on the first day to the camp sight, and a white top that the sleeves stopped at the elbow. I looked up to see Luke pulling out clothes as well.
