I've never had arms wrapped around me so tight that oxygen was being cut off to get to my lungs. And I don't ever think I've hugged someone so strong enough to have them not move an inch.
Mia's long tangled hair covered my face as I continuously gripped onto her. Her breathing was heavy and panicked making me pull away to look at her beaten face. Blood trickled from her nose and a busted lip, while her right eye was a dark shade of blue and purple. It felt as if someone and shoved a knife in my heart and was constantly turning it, deeper and deeper. A soft whimper shook from her blood covered lips as her hand gripped onto mine.
"I- I didn't know what to do," she cried, barely audible because of her swollen lip. "I tried to run but, but-"
"But what?" I gently asked sniffling away the tempting sobs. My thumb grazed over her cut knuckles, watching as her head fell to the floor like she'd lost a battle.
"He was too quick. Blake please tell me what's going on I don't know what's happening help me!" Her voice rose and the crack in her voice becoming a natural thing.
I became speechless not knowing where to start, boy I wanted to tell her everything but something was holding my tongue and I couldn't get the words out. My mouth became dry from my jaw gaping open and I felt a water forming on the back of my neck. Talking about this stuff horrified me, just telling her would send me straight back to point one where I would become terrified of everything once again.
Just then the boys all came rushing in all stopping and staring at Mia. She lowered her head slightly making her hair fall in front of her face.
Calum went to speak up but I cut him off.
"Look, I don't even know myself Mia." Was all I could get out with my tongue sticking to the top of my mouth. "How did you get here?"
"I arrived home yesterday, everything was normal. My parents told me that you and the boys were in a critical condition in hospital with life risking injuries from blood loss, I didn't want to believe it- I really didn't," she wiped a hand over her weeping eyes as I listened carefully at the information she was providing. "That was until I saw the paper that day- and, and-"
She stopped talking, making my heart beat louder and faster. I felt a hand sit down on my waist sending chills through out my body. Luke.
"And what!" I begged her, gripping into her tense shoulders. Usually I'm a patient person, but right now I couldn't wait a second longer.
"Your photo, you, Calum, Michael, Luke and Ashton- all of you were in the paper. All killed in a fire accident."
I felt my heart snap and fall, everyone, everyone back home my family and friends will be believe I'm dead. They would have no idea I'm alive and well after just a few cuts and bruises. They would have no idea that their sons and daughter are currently trying to fight their way out of a hostage situation. They would have no idea that we were alive and trying to survive.
They would know that their kids would not be returning back home."H- how?" I finally let the tears fall, tasting the salt that dropped into the corners of my mouth.
"I don't know I was too upset to read anything! The information I only got that was my best friend was killed and there was nothing to retrieve!" Her cries screeched in the room and her body lunged at mine. I was too startled to even process anything.
They can't prove this, no they fucking can't. There would have had to be an investigation and evidence. The name of the hospital, where it is, the school we went to. My family can't be stupid enough to believe this, could they? And who is providing all this horrific information, feeding the world and people lies.
