I panicked while packing my clothes into my bag. It didn't help of course with Mia whining that she didn't want to be left alone.
"Are you sure you need to go?" She slumped down on her bed as I zipped up my bag.
"Yes. Well... I don't know, I think I need stitches but I'm just more worried about Luke at the moment..." I put the strap over my shoulder walking up to Mia. Her eyes were down and her lip dropped.
"How long will you be?"
"Hopefully a couple of hours, but Luke seems to be loosing a decent amount of blood so who knows it could be a night yet," I bit into my lip unsure of what was to happen. "I should probably get going... I'm sorry," I pouted my bottom lip putting my arms out for a hug. Mia stood up hugging me back before I pulled away.
"Text me how you guys get on," she smiled tucking her palms into the pockets of her jeans. I nodded walking out the door waving goodbye.
I saw the boys making there way to the van all hurdling there bags but Luke wasn't to be seen. My body froze, what if he was already there and something serious happened? That was until I heard a cough coming from the door next to me. It was wide open so I peeked in to see Luke lying on his bed his bad knee laid out. I limped in, a smile planted on his lips.
"Hey," he mumbled quietly.
"Need a hand?" I asked reaching for his hand. He nodded taking hold of it sitting up. Cal walked in just as I got Luke on one leg, quickly taking the other side of Luke.
"B you can't carry him you're hurt too," Michael swung round the corner telling me to move. I did as he pleased and hobbled behind trying to avoid putting weight on my knee. My arm ached from the fabric rubbing on it so I tried my best to keep it still. I closed their door once we were out, Ashton waiting at the bottom of the steps. He quickly ran up to me taking his arms under my shoulder helping me walk. I said a quick thank you before we made it to the dirty white van. Luke took the back seat so he could lay his leg out with Calum and I in the seat in front of him and Michael and Ashton in the other. There were a couple of available seats but we felt unsure of something so we huddled together to make sure everyone was okay.
"I should've had a shower," Ashton whined as the van drove off, his hair tangled with mud and his white shirt drenched. I looked down at myself, my legs now red from blood and my clothes dirty as ever. Luke looking just as bad.
"Sorry if you didn't want to come," I yawned turning to Calum looking out the window. He turned to me a shocked look on his face.
"Are you kidding?! I wouldn't miss out in a heartbeat to go on a road trip with my three best mates and a weirdo!" He chuckled flicking my cheek. I swatted his hand away rolling my eyes.
I looked down at my elbow, fiddling with the tied ends of the wrapping. I felt it irritating on my skin so I decided to take it off letting it get some air. It was painful to pull it off, the dried blood making it stick. The gash was huge I couldn't look at it. I remember when I got my first serious injury, dad took me horse trekking out through the mountains one day when I was seven and we were riding through the trees and up a slope. My horse got a bit excited deciding to start galloping up which caused me to fall back off landing awkwardly on my feet, breaking my left leg. A clean brake. Dad told me to suck it up for the rest of the ride so he pulled me back up on my horse and leaded me back home, an hour later I was plastered up. Both him and mum raised me to just harden up most of the times, and I'm thankful for that, it's given me confidence.
I felt my eyes close slowly starting to daze off, listening to the tires drive on the road. A soft hum coming from Calum's lips, a tune to a song that sounded familiar but I couldn't pick it. It was soothing enough to make my body shut down and relax for the rest of the drive.

🔴quick a/n I suggest you listen to a sad song preferably Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley for this next part🔴
The van was silent when my eyes slowly peeled open. My head was held down by Calum's head as I must've fell asleep on his shoulder earlier. I leaned out of my seat, Calum's head falling gently, noticing the woman who was driving was gone and we were parked outside an old looking hospital. Why didn't she wake us up if we had arrived? I turned to my side my eyes still half shut seeing Ashton and Michael both asleep on each other before looking behind me at Luke. His body completely casted out at the back. My body shot over towards him my eyes wide and alert. The blood over his knee increased and he made weird noises in his sleep. I tried calling his name but he didn't wake, so I shook his body more desperately trying to get him to open his eyes. I put my hand near his nose, feeling the soft gentle breaths. Shaking him more I whimpered scared he wouldn't wake.
"He's not waking up he's not waking up!" I repeated feeling the boys jolt awake. I felt the tears brim at my eyes feeling worried that he could be gone soon. "Help him help him!" I let it all slip out desperately trying to wake him.
Arms gripped onto my own yanking me back making me squeal. Must have been Michael as Ash and Cal rushed forward grabbing Luke under their arms. I stumbled out of the van gripping to Michaels shirt, him pulling me into his arms. I saw Calum and Ash bring Luke's pale body out of the van, his arms dangling freely. How long has he been like that for? How long were we driving and when did we get here? All that time he could've asked for help. I shouldn't have been so stupid to fall asleep. I couldn't stop the tears from falling after that, seeing him like he was already dead.
"Shh it's okay he'll be okay," Michaels voice was different like he was on the verge of crying too. He presses his hands to my head hugging me tightly. I didn't think I would've been so messed up about Luke but I genuinely did care about him. Cared about these boys. I didn't really notice that until now, we've never been close friends before but spending the last hours with these guys has changed my perspective about them.
I held onto Michael as we walked behind Luke. His eyes glued shut, a limp and cold body. I swear he could be dead, he looks horrific. Calum sniffled back while Ashton wiped his eyes with a free hand. For them seeing Luke like this must be painful, there best friend slowly loosing blood. Rushing into the hospital the atmosphere changed, cold and dark like. A young girl behind the registration table quickly signalled us over. She had smooth blonde hair tied up around her head.
"Oh my," she gasped covering her mouth. "Please, this way." She ushered us down a corridor before turning down serval other dark halls till we came to a halt. She unlocked the door to a room with six beds, curtain rails surrounding each bed. The boys gently laid Luke down on the nearest bed, before several doctors were in the room surrounding him. Ashton and Calum were pushed back, making me reach forward trying to get to Luke so he wouldn't be alone. Two doctors grabbing onto me, one of them digging there bony fingers right into my wound making me scream in pain. I felt the blood trickle down my arm, letting the tears fall freely. I looked over one of the doctors shoulders seeing Luke being worked on, tubes and needles being stuck on his body making me shiver. My eyes were blurred from tears, faintly seeing curtains being pulled around Luke's area of the room. I pushed with all my strength but the doctors fought back, the fingers going deeper into my elbow, the pain maximising. I heard my name cry from behind me before my weight gave way my eyes rolling to the back of my head and everything fell black.
