I remember back years ago I saw my mother cry. I didn't know what it was or what it did but I didn't even have to ask her what was wrong before I started crying too. We stood there for a good five minutes just hugging each other, listening to her sobs and I felt something I've never felt before. She kept apologising over and over for making me cry but that wasn't it, my body instantly told myself that I had to stay strong for her. It was an odd feeling but it was one of the best feelings just doing something so simple for someone. And that's what I had to do for the boys, to not panic nor nothing. The calmer I am, the calmer they'll be.
It was hard to do, I'm not going to lie, but at the end of it all it feels like you've achieved something almost. I don't know if I could do it for long, it'll definitely take its toll on me if I'm doing it every minute every hour, which would just be unhealthy.
My left arm was trapped under a body when I woke up, leaving it numb as the blood hadn't gotten to it, but also being thankful because it took the pain from my elbow away. My eyes were watery and blurry, I looked up to see a blonde haired boy cocooned tightly around me and his eyes gently closed. So he was the one who brought me up here, I thought. How long have we all been sleeping for? I got my free hand reaching gently into the bum pocket of Luke's tight black jeans pulling out his phone. 7:46am it read. I've barely had an hour sleep, great. I couldn't help but smile at his lock screen, a goofy selfie with him and the boys each being their usual dorky selfs and looking happy. I clicked onto the camera icon and all these settings popped up, so I pointed it up to Luke tapping on the screen when a line at the bottom appeared. You could zoom? I pinched my fingers and went right up close on his sleeping face clicking the button for it to take. I clicked on the full photo biting onto my lip before quitting out and turning his phone off. I placed it back in his pocket being careful not to wake him up, even tho I wanted him to so I could move.
A psss, was heard through the room and I poked my head up to see Calum smiling and waving. I grinned, mouthing help to him. He thought for a second before shaking his head no. I flicked him off dropping my head back in front of Luke which thankfully made him sort of wake up. His eyes fluttered open and a smile grew on his cheeks.
"Desperate much?" He whispered.
"Could be saying the same thing about you," I rolled my eyes, awkwardly waiting for him to move. His lips were a soft pink and my eyes stayed glued to them. Those lips. Those lips, he kissed my cheek last night. I felt my cheeks heat up realising that it was him.
"What?" He silently chuckled.
"Nothing?" I said hesitantly trying to wriggle out from under him. He shook his head, quickly pulling me back and I just wanted to move around and walk.
"Dude there's still the whole morning left, just sleep you're tired."
"Dude I need to piss," I mocked his voice in his tone as good as I could.
"Ew," he said trying to impersonate a girl which just sounded exactly like him anyway. He helped me get up and the blood instantly flushed back down to my arm and the pain started to kick in again. "Here I'll go with you," he said. My eyes screwed together.
"I'm not two."
"I'm not letting you go out there alone with some psycho killer on the loose," he said bluntly taking my hand and pulling me out the door. The new area was unfamiliar to us making it difficult to find the toilets but with the help of signs we finally found some. He went and pushed on the door with six cubicles in it. I made my way to one while Luke in the other. Once finished I hopped out washing my hands, feeling the dirt fall off of them.
I looked up in the mirror in front of me, all the colour had drained from my face like when I was sick, and my eyes were still puffy. I cupped my hands under the warm water before splashing it over my face. It felt refreshing but it obviously did nothing to improve the look of it. My hands poked at my round cheeks, feeling the cold skin.
"What are you doing?" Luke laughed from beside me as he fixed his hair.
I stood blankly in front of the mirror shrugging my shoulders. He shook it off grabbing my hand again and pulling me out the door. I looked down at our hands as he swung them up and down in a joking matter laughing about it. Eventually I found myself doing it to.
"Which way did we come from again?" He smiled scratching the back of his neck. I looked around confused as to where we were again. My mouth opened to talk but my voice was blocked from a hand slapping over my mouth.
I screeched out feeling my body being pulled from Luke as I desperately held onto his hand trying not to loose him. The force was strong, Luke swinging around his eyes widening with pure shock. An arm swung around my throat keeping me in a choke hold as I cried with all I could for Luke to help. My eyes darted down, a leather jacket and gloves on the body, heavy breathing by my ear. No doubt a man from the figure I was seeing. I screamed as I was disconnected from Luke, I kicked up in the air trying to swing them back to kick who ever it was in the legs.
"Let go of her!" Luke shouted throwing a fist into the persons head, his punch strong enough for both of our bodies to be thrown back. I gripped my hands on the hand over my mouth pulling it off tasting the awful taste. I threw my elbow back feeling it jab into the ribcage, but screamed as I felt the stitches in my elbow slowly pull out from under the skin. The man fell back as he clutched onto his stomach.
"You stupid bitch!" He yelled quickly jumping back to his feet running at me. My arm held over my elbow the blood seeping through the thin fabric and drenching my fingers. He was tall and muscular, his identity hidden behind a dark green face beanie.
Luke came swooping in from the side bowling the man over, repeatedly throwing his fist into the guys cracking jaw. I cried out trying to get the boys to hear us, while I ran over to Luke not knowing what to do. The man fought back throwing one hard punch into Luke's jaw knocking him right off of him. I gasped grabbing Luke's head but was picked up by someone else. I felt the pain spear through my spine as I was pushed up against the wall, I tilted my head back gasping for air. Hands clamped over my neck, thumbs digging deeper and deeper into my throat cutting off the air. This is it, I thought. I'm going to die. My eyes were popping from there sockets, rolling back further into my skull. I tried fighting back but my energy was wasted and all I could do was gasp for every inch of air I could find. The man grunted his hands falling from my neck and he fell cold to the floor, I dropped down after him getting one last glance at a scalpel deep inside his neck before everything fell black.
