Donovan's POV~

Why dose this feel so familiar?  I ask myself as I sit down in an empty chair in the counseling office. I wait for about a minute before the counselor opens the door and calls me in. Slowly I get up and go into the office.

"Hello, Donovan. I'm Mrs. Pierce and I'll your new counselor for the rest of your high school years," Mrs. Pierce said shaking my hand as I walk into her office. She was a middle aged women with light brown hair that was fashioned into a bun. Gesturing me to sit down I take a seat in a chair in front of her desk. She walks around her desk and says, "So Donovan it says here in your record, that you are in a sport. Is that correct?"

"Yeah. I'm in football," I tell her.

"Well as you know to keep participating in a school sport you must keep your grades up," she said. I then give her a confused look.

"Are you saying that I'm failing my classes?" I say with fear in my voice. Now I know why this feels so familiar, its like back in middle school all over again.

"No, you are not failing your classes," I then let out a sigh of relief, "but your grades are getting to be quite low. And if you don't keep your grades up then you will not be able to play in any games until they are up."

"What are my grades right now?" I asked afraid of the answer. She turns to her computer and starts typing and clicking.

After a minute she turns back to me and says, "You have three 'C-', two 'D', and one 'A". I let out a frustrated grown.

"What can I do to get my grades up?" she turns around and looks through a cabinet. Turning back to me, she hands me a piece of paper.

"You can go to the school library, after school, and get class and homework help," she says pointing to the paper. "There are teachers and students there helping the struggling students. But those students are mostly tutors. You can sign up for one if you would like."

"Who are the student tutors?" I ask thinking about having someone my age tutor me instead of a teacher.

"They're students who are in the Honor Society, some upperclassmen, and some of our higher level students," she says.

"Do I get to pick who I want as a tutor?" I ask hoping she says yes, then I'll get my best friend to tutor me. He's really smart and I think he's in the Honor society.

"No, we pair you up with someone that we think will help you out better. But if you don't like the person we pair you up with then we can always pair you up with someone else," she says.

"Okay. I'd like to get a student tutor then," I said. Even if I don't get to pick my tutor at least its better than having some teacher help me. I already have to listen to them talk for an hour, I don't think I can go longer that that.

She turns back to her computer and says, "Okay, I'll sign you up. When can you stay after school to start?"

"Today is fine with me," I tell her. She nods in understanding and writes something down.

"OK. Just be in the library at 2:20 pm after school and give this to the librarian," she then hands me a sticky note with the numbers 7385 on it.

"What do the numbers mean?" I ask her.

"Those are the numbers your tutor will need to be able to access your grades," she said.

With that I get up and leave, mumbling a quick goodbye. As I walk back toward my class I look at the numbers thinking who my tutor will be.

Ian's POV~

I was in my English class working on the assignment the teacher gave us when the phone rang. Everyone in the class looked up from there papers and turned toward our teacher. Getting up from her seat in the front, Mrs. Brooks answers the phone.
