Ian's POV~
I got up in the morning quickly heading out the door. Once I dropped of some meatballs at Rosa's house, I drove straight to school. I need to tell my friends what happened yesterday.
As I parked my car I got this uneasy feeling. My stomach started to turn and do flips inside me. A rush of queasiness passed through my head. I cut off the engine and sat there. The uneasy feeling suddenly leaving.
Grabbing my things, I quickly headed for the school. When I got inside I started looking for my friends. Searching the places they would most likely be. I looked everywhere for them, but I couldn't find them.
If I don't find them now I'll have to tell them at lunch I thought to myself. But what if something bad happens to them before lunch? What if they get punished because of me?
No! You can't think like that. Stop worrying so much!
Glancing at the clock I see that it was time for me to head to class. "I guess I'll have to tell them when I see them, or at lunch," I said and quickly went to my classroom.
*********
The bell had just rang releasing us to lunch. I haven't seen any if my friends in the classes we have together. In a fast walking pace I made my way to the cafeteria. Reluctantly I found my friends sitting at our usual table. All but Ethan.
When I got there all eyes landed on me. "Where have you guys been. I've was looking the whole morning for all of you!" I said, frustrated that they just decided to show up.
"Ian was that you yesterday?" Brady asked his voice very strict. Completely ignoring my little bust of anger.
"Yeah, but it was an accident. My emotions somehow linked up to it!" I said trying to explain myself. Worry filling my voice.
"Brady stop!" said Kailin, "You know what happens when Ian gets uncomfortable," she said rubbing circles on my back.
"Yeah but he has to be more careful," he said. His voice now at a softer tone. Ethan then came to the table and sat down by me.
"So where have all of you been this whole morning?" I asked looking at all of their faces.
"We decided to skip in case they called us," Connor said. "Sorry we didn't tell you."
"Have they called you guys yet?" I asked them. They all shook their heads no. "Well then maybe they didn't notice it. What if something more important came. . ." I then trailed off, the uneasy feeling coming back to me.
"Ian are you okay?" Ethan asked. Putting his hand on my shoulder.
All of a sudden my chest began to burn. When I touched it , it was hot. Though it wasn't my chest it was my necklace. I grabbed it from behind my shirt and coat and let it hang in front of me.
"Ow! This is hot!" I said looking at my necklace. My friends then took out their's from behind their own shirts, so that all of us had the jewels in the front of us.
"Mines getting hot also," Irylen said. I looked down at my necklace and saw that it was starting to glow.
I quickly grabbed it. Hiding the glow with my hand. Ignoring the fact that it was burning my hand. Looking up I saw that my friends were all holding there jewels in there hand too. Trying to hide the glow.
"Lets get out of here," said Connor standing up. Clutching his gem tightly. A bit of fear in his voice. We all nodded in agreement and quickly walked out of the cafeteria. All of us trying to hide the glow with our hands. We started heading towards the other side of the building. Where there was no one in sight.
When we got outside we let go of the jewels. They were now getting brighter. We all got in a circle and watched our stones start to float up to the middle of the circle.
There was then a sudden flash.
*****
Looking around the room I saw that my friends and I were all standing in front of podiums. We were in a giant room. On the walls all around us are portraits of old people. Under each portrait there was a plaque. It either read "king" or "queen". The room was brightly lit. I looked up and saw that the ceiling was made out of glass. A bright sunny day shining into the room.
To my left there was Brady and Kailin and on my right there was Ethan, Irylen, and Connor. Ethan's podium was lined up with mine. While everyone else's was behind us by a couple of feet. In front of us are 9 large benches. Raised desk that you would usually see in a court house. The seats behind the benches were outlined with gems.
Small flashes soon appeared in six of the seats. They were then filled with people in large robes. The people stood up and bowed at us.
"Saeculo tertio reges et reginae suscipimus!" one of them then said in Latin.
"We welcomes you kings and queens of the third world!"
My friends and I all bowed.
