DAWN ZULUETA.
6:30 PM.
"Ma'am, para sa inyo raw po," said one of our our maids as I was comfortably lying on the couch at home.
Seeing a surprise, I immediately got up and tried to discover where it came from. "Kanino galing 'to?" Though how much I wanted to know, my maid was just as clueless. "Hindi ko po alam, Ma'am e. May nagdeliver lang po. Eto nga po at may kasama pang envelope," she said as she handed to me a glossy and scented pink envelope. "Okay. Thank you ha. Ilapag mo na lang muna diyan yang mga bulaklak," then I tapped my maid's back, signalling her to leave me there so I could open the envelope by myself.
My heart then began to thump rapidly as I held the envelope in my hands and as I looked at the lovely bouquet of flowers sent to me. I wondered who had the guts to send me something like it at home. I knew it couldn't be my husband because he stayed back in Davao, he was busy, and I just knew he wouldn't do such act. Plus the pink envelope, it appeared very mysterious to me. So to answer the puzzle in my mind, I slowly opened the envelope and then read the note inside:
DEAR DAWN,
LOVE, I HOPE YOU LIKE THE FLOWERS. TAYO ANG MAGKA-DATE BUKAS
YESSSSS!!! MASOSOLO NA KITA FINALLY!!! YOU JUST DON'T KNOW HOW HAPPY I AM.
SEE YOU TOMORROW OKAY? :)
HUGS AND KISSES,
YOUR BABE RICHARD.
Richard just sent me a bouquet of flowers?!? It took me a couple of seconds before the idea sinked in. So just to make sure it wasn't one of those moments I could only dream of, I slapped my face side by side. When I got hurt instantly, I realized I was truly in that moment. Yes, Richard just sent me a bouquet of flowers!
Butterflies then went moving in my stomach. I felt the sky smiling above me just as my heart skipped for joy. It was suddenly a brighter world. It was suddenly a moment of pure and real joy. I haven't felt this way in so long, I admitted in my mind.
But I forgot all the drama and faced the good little thing instead. Not hiding my excitement to get those flowers in my arms, I rushed to the table where they were placed. And sweet! There were six tulips and twenty four roses, bundled and arranged properly to make a wonderful bouquet. ***Check multimedia included in this page. I linked a photo of this bouquet.*** As I held the present in my arms, an aura of youth, an aura of freshness, and more importantly of romance built up around me. I had that kind of smile that lit up my eyes and reached my ears on both sides. So before the tickling feeling could make me faint, I went over to the sofa where I put my phone moments ago. And still with a huge smile on my face, the butterflies, and all my feels, I reached Richard through the wire.
