June 5, 2013. 12:19 AM. Author's note: My dear readers, I'm sorry to keep you waiting. I just started to be busy with school again so I can't update that much. I had no plans to update today but since you guys have been so kind, I quickly wrote this short chapter for you. Now I have to sleep so until next time. Thanks so much! :)

DAWN ZULUETA.

"Hindi ka ba sasakay sa kotse?" Richard sighed standing arms akimbo. That time, our duet was over so we decided to leave the venue. Feeling an urge to go straight home instead of going somewhere with him, I momentarily struggled to find the words to turn him down.

"Sorry, Goms. Pero ayoko nang sumama sayo. I want to go home na," I said biting my lip.

Expression of cluelessness then mirrored through his face. "Ha?" he grimaced. “Bakit biglang nagbago isip mo? May naghihintay na ba sayo sa bahay niyo?”

“Wala. Nasa Davao pa yun,” I replied as I turned my back at him.

“Kung ganon, bakit nagmamadali kang umuwi? Kanina lang excited ka ah. Come on, Dawn,” he said, coming closer to caress his hands through my hair. Just as he smelled it, he pressed his lips against my cheek and insisted, “Please. Halika na my love.”

I pushed him back just to stop the tickling feeling he was causing. “May taping pa ako bukas, Goma. Ayoko na talagang sumama. Uuwi na ako,” I said but still couldn’t look at him straight in the eye.

“That’s it? Fine. E di umuwi ka! Gooooooo!” Richard told me with sarcasm floating in the air. “Oh akala ko ba uuwi ka?” he continued teasing as he saw not a single movement on my part. He probably knew I couldn’t go home because I sent my driver home early in the evening. As my face went blank, Richard started whistling with the expression on his face going naughty once again.

“Richard naman e,” I said stamping my feet. “Alam mo namang pinauwi ko na yung driver ko. Ihatid mo ako please.”

He suddenly laughed when he heard my request. With how he looked like, I knew I had no choice but go with him as planned. “Ihahatid naman talaga kita, Dawn. Alam mo namang hindi kita pababayaan diba?” he told me as he took another step closer to me. “Pero sumama ka muna sa akin saka kita ihahatid. Sandali lang ‘to promise,” he added, planting another kiss on my cheeks. I tried to hide it but I must admit that I liked the kiss so much.

“Ayoko nga. Bakit ka ba masiyadong mapilit?” my voice raised a bit face to face with him. He then quickly pulled me and leaned my back against the car door. With his arms on my both sides, he stood dazzling me for the nth time with his ‘naughty boy’ look. “Mapilit ako dahil gusto kitang makasama. Gusto kitang makasama dahil mahal kita,” he avowed and continued overwhelming me with the glow in his face. He didn’t stop there though. He came so close that I could feel his skin against mine and expressed, “I love you, Dawn. Mahirap bang intindihan yun?”

My world suddenly stopped as the words rushed through my senses. Music as his claim sounded in my ears, Richard touched my heart so deep like no one else could. He did it again. With no surprise, he does it all the time.

“Now tell me. Bakit bigla kang umayaw sa date natin?” he whispered. And as I softened because of what just transpired, I bit my lip again and took a deep breath. “Wag kang tatawa. Mangako ka,” I warned but could no longer stop my lips from curling upward. So Richard started smiling as well and we both laughed even before I confessed my reason.

“Ikaw kase e!” I accused him. “Ha? Ako? Anong ginawa ko sayo?” the innocent Richard then yanked me for him to finally open the car door.

“Yun nga mismo ang problema e. Wala kang ginawa!” I wailed making a face on him.

And not understanding the whole thing, he started bursting into laughter again. “What are you talking about, Dawn?” he asked.

“Nag-expect kase ako kanina sa stage na…. Alam mo na,” I said then turned my back at him.

Richard then chortled as if no more days were coming. As his laughter filled the lot, he sent me a message through his eyes that he already understood what I was complaining about. “Na ano? Na hahalikan kita?” he giggled which sounded to me like yet another tease. “Yun ba?” he asked and hugged me from behind. “I wanted to kiss you so bad lalo na nung end ng song natin pero hindi pwede. You know why? Baka kasi may manakit na naman sayo pag ginawa ko yun,” he then sounded so protective of me. Running his fingers down my cheek, he added, “Ikaw lang naman ang inaalala ko, Dawn. If giving in to my urges would result to you getting hurt by someone, I’d rather keep still.”

That once again hit a vein within. Crystals of tears suddenly formed in the corners of my eyes as I thanked Richard. When I turned to him, his sweet smile made me home again and I couldn’t help but smack a kiss on his lips.

“So hindi ka na nagtatampo?” he confirmed as our lips parted. When I shook my head, he immediately brought me to the car and put my seat belt on. “Sasama ka na sa akin ha? Wala nang bawian!” said the all pumped up Richard. “Oooppps, may bawian palang mangyayari, Dawn. Di kita hinalikan kanina diba? Babawi ako ngayong gabi,” then I heard his familiar chuckle - the one I would always hear from a Richard Gomez living his ‘pretty and naughty boy’ character.

And not too long after that broke into the moment, we started driving away from the venue. It was past 10 PM and the streets were clear. As we drove through the bright lights of the city with no one in the sidewalks, we kind of felt we were alone. I thought the world somehow was ours and no one had to watch. That’s when Richard reminded me, “Don’t be too amazed yet. This is just a taste of what awaits you tonight.”

What could it be? popped the question inside my head. Though I had no idea just yet, I held on to my belief that every moment spent with your true love never fails to light up your whole life. Though I was clueless, I asked no more since the man taking me to wherever was my true love, Richard. True enough, you got to have trust when things remain yet unseen. Oh the little things, yes the little things.
