Cas woke up, his alarm screaming. Today was the day. he lazily rolled out of bed, putting his glasses on as he did so. no one else seemed to be awake, so he tiptoed into the bathroom.

Cas quickly showered and brushed his teeth before pulling on a white button down, a blue tie, a tan sweater vest along with some black pants. He grabbed his shoes and coat and a banana from the kitchen.

outside, the cold rain hit his already wet hair. he walked in silence to the school, taking a bite of his breakfast every now and then. as soon as the school was in view, cas threw the banana peel into someone's trash, hoping they wouldn't mind. garbage is garbage, right? a brown pomeranian barked violently at him as he walked past one of the houses, so he picked up the pace and ran the last block to the school.

Mr. Greenly was waiting in the office and buzzed him in. cas stepped inside and dragged his wet shoes along the mat in an attempt to dry them, so they wouldn't squeak. it seemed to be useless because as soon as he stepped onto the white tiles, there was an obnoxious noise that came from his shoes. he rolled his eyes and walked into the office.

"Ah, Castiel!" Mr. Greenly welcomed. Cas weakly smiled, wanting to go bury himself in a hole. "Detention will be in my room. you should head there and get settled in while I wait here for Mr. Winchester."

winchester, cas thought to himself. it was a name he had heard before, in quiet murmurs in the halls. people seemed to fear him, always marking sure to whisper about him just in case he would hear. he had heard so many rumours about dean, not sure which to believe. some said he was a player, while others said he was a virgin before lisa. people said he raised his brother alone, and that he had to because he murdered his parents. the rumours were always contradictory, a new one every week that seemed to replace the last. the most recent one was that dean had broken up with lisa because he was gay. cas found this rumour to be the craziest one he had heard so far. dean winchester, the most handsome boy in school, would most definitely be as straight as a line. the universe wasn't that kind- to make dean winchester play on the same team as cas.

He waited for about half an hour until Mr. Greenly came in, followed by Dean Winchester.

Cas's heart skipped a beat when he saw him. His beautiful green eyes wandered the office, looking over every book and detail. Dean was wearing a small amulet, on top of his black tee-shirt and old brown leather jacket. the black fabric stuck to his chest in a way that showed off his beautiful form, widening cas's eyes to the point he felt that they would fall out of his head. he was more beautiful than cas remembered. the last time he saw dean, they were at the school dance in the seventh grade.

When Dean sat down next to Cas, Cas froze. he wasn't sure if dean would talk to him. if he didn't, should cas be the one to initiate conversation? there was a whole room filled with chairs and he decided to sit right next to cas, so maybe that meant that he wanted to talk. or maybe that just meant that he didn't want to sit alone.

"You two will be in here, alone, for the next four hours. I will be checking in at different intervals to make sure you aren't doing anything bad."

Cas and Dean nodded when Mr. Greenly left. they sat in silence for a few minutes, not sure of what to do. cas could feel dean's eyes burning into him. he couldn't take the heat- the feeling of dean staring at him the way that he was. it felt almost wrong for dean to be looking at him like that. cas could hear his own heart, the sound echoing through the silent room. he was sure that dean could hear it beat, and the staring was because he knew why it was beating so quickly.

"I'm Dean," Dean introduced himself. cas looked over at dean, who had on a charming half smile. his arms were crossed over his chest, his hair fell perfectly in strands covering parts of his forehead,
