Dean came back with a smile. Cas was looking out the window again, in search for the flower where the bee had been headed.
"I like hanging out with you Cas, I really do."
Castiel looked up at Dean, fighting the blush that threatened to take control over his face. "I like it too. Hanging out with you, I mean. Not with myself. That's just-"
"I got it, Cas," Dean chuckled, stopping Cas from rambling on even more. He patted Castiel's shoulder. "I got it."
Cas pulled out his phone to check the time. "Dean, we're late for class!"
"Shit," Dean cussed under his breath. The two gathered their things and rushed out of the door.
"I can't miss any more classes!" Dean shouted as they ran. "Greenly will suspend me!"
They ran as fast as they could and made it to the school right as the second bell rang.
Out of breath, Castiel walked to his locker and retrieved his books.
He walked, alone, into the classroom. All eyes were on him and he suddenly remembered today was the test. The test. If he failed, it would affect his grade dramatically.
How could he have forgotten to study? He was usually so on top of things that said things couldn't even breathe. The test was announced on Friday, Cas knew that. But what had made him forget? What had he been doing all weekend?
He sat down in his sit, looking around the classroom. They were all still looking at him. He placed his books on the floor and Macy, who say in front of him, passed him the test.
"You may begin," Mr. Argent said. Timed test.
Castiel flipped through the booklet, trying to see if he had remembered any of the questions. Thankfully, the test was quite simple. Cas picked up his pen and began to answer the questions.
"Time!" Mr. Argent yelled, as the beeping of the stopwatch got louder and louder. He turned off the stopwatch, slowly sliding it into his pocket. "Pass the booklets forward, please."
Castiel did as he was told, a bright smile across his face. He was able to finish the test, with five minutes to spare. He knew his answers were all correct, so he was able to think about Dean for the last five minutes.
The bell rang and Cas gathered his things.
"Mr. Novak!" Cas's teacher called. "I'd like to speak with you."
Cas's heart began to race. Was he in trouble?
"Yes?"
"I've noticed that your grades have started to decline on the past few tests. Is everything okay?" Mr. Argent asked, writing in his notebooks. Not only was the Mr. Argent the history teacher, but he was the guidance counsellor. No one was quite sure how that worked, but it did.
"The same as usual, really. I just have been distracted lately," Cas answered holding back the most crucial part of why he was distracted.
"Is this about why Naomi beat you up? I do know why she did, Castiel. And that is totally fine," Mr. Argent said with a reassuring smile.
"What do you mean?" Cas tried to play cool, not showing that he felt like exploding.
"That you're a homosexual," Mr. Argent whispered the word 'homosexual', presumably so no one else heard. Cas's eyes widened and the late bell rang.
"I have to go to class, Mr. Argent. Sorry," Cas rushed. He sped out of the class, not letting Mr. Argent say anything else.
How the hell was everybody finding out? Eighteen years of staying quiet, dating girls, lying to his family and the moment he tells one person everyone finds out. Maybe Dean knew.
