castiel
Cas's next class went by quickly. Probably because his mind was somewhere else. He just kept on remembering Dean; everything about that man was amazing.
When the bell rang, Cas headed to his third and final class before his lunch date with Dean. But it's not a date, Castiel. It's just two friends eating lunch, he told himself.
At his final class, he was greeted by Dean.
"We have this one together," Dean smiled. Cas returned the gesture.
The two walked into the class together and took their regular seat. Just like in their first class, Dean was seated in the back. This aggravated Cas, because he couldn't stare at Dean without having to turn around. Once the teacher came in, Dean raised his hand.
"Sir, I can't see from back here," Dean lied. Cas could see what he was doing. "I think I need to move up."
"Alright, move up to the front," the teacher accommodated Dean.
"Where?"
"Anywhere, just hurry it up," Mr. Holmes, the teacher, began to get angry. Dean gathered his books and stood by the seat next to Cas. The nice girl in the seat seemed mesmerised, so she just got up and left, one of her books falling out of her hands. Dean picked it up and handed it to her with a wink. Cas felt a small pinch in his heart. I think he's straight, Cas thought.
Dean took the seat next to Cas and the teacher started class.
Around five minutes into working on math problems, Cas felt something hit his leg. He looked down to see a note.
'I'm excited for lunch
-Dean'
Cas chuckled and looked at Dean, who was pretending to not have sent the note.
'Me too. I really like hanging out with you.' Cas wrote. He placed it on the floor and slid it to Dean using his foot.
Cas solved the next problem and waited for Dean's response. This seemed so childish, passing notes in class.
Dean sent the paper back to Cas, who wasn't paying attention. Dean kicked his leg again and Cas winced.
"Oh, sorry," Dean whispered. "Didn't mean to hurt you."
"It's okay." Cas picked up the note and opened it.
'Me too. I think we should hang out everyday. Or something like that. You're a cool guy, Castiel Novak.'
The last sentence seemed to float around Cas's mind, almost as if it were a movie. He was a 'cool guy'?
'Thanks.' Cas wrote back. The note passing stopped. Class went on, boring as ever.
This class was so simple for Cas. He should be in the advanced class, but he failed the exam to get in.
There were about ten minutes left in class when Dean passed Cas another note. It was empty. Cas turned it around to see the back and saw a smiley face on a cheeseburger. Cas had to bite the inside of his cheek to keep him from laughing.
Cas added a milkshake drawing and made a small stick figure climbing up the side. He passed the note to Dean, who -unlike Cas- burst out laughing.
