Cas and Dean drove in silence. Cas hoped that being at Dean's house wouldn't be this awkward.
They pulled up to a small house not too far from Cas's. Cas wondered why they hadn't seen each other in town before. Maybe he had seen Dean, but he hadn't stood out to him.
"Alright, Sammy's inside so I was thinking that you could teach me how to cook something for him. I want to be a good brother, you know? Not having to always go out to buy burgers. I know he doesn't really like them," Dean explained. They went inside and Cas looked around. It was much smaller than his house, but he did have a lot of more people living there.
"Sammy!" Dean called out. Sam went to the doorway, where the two were removing their shoes. Sam shifted awkwardly and pulled Dean aside. Cas had the option of eavesdropping, he was very good at sneaking up on people. But he respected their privacy and found his way to the kitchen.
"Cas?" Dean searched the house.
"I'm in here!" Cas responded, washing his hands in the sink. "Wash your hands."
Dean did as he was told. "Sam wants mashed potatoes. I don't know if we have any potatoes, though."
"That's okay. I can go out and get them," Cas offered. Dean shook his head.
"I'll do it. You can talk to Sammy and bond or whatever. I have a feeling you'll be here often," dean said, winking at cas.
Cas reddened, turning away so dean couldn't see. "Alright. I'll just watch tv."
Dean nodded and told Sam what was happening. Sam agreed, so Dean left.
"Hey, Sam," Cas smiled. He sat down next to the 14 year old on the couch. Sam smiled back. "How's school?"
"It's okay. I just got a girlfriend," Sam said excitedly as he flipped through the channels.
"What's her name?" Cas asked.
"Jessica Moore. I love her," Sam admitted, his cheeks turning pink.
"You do? You know that love is a strong word, Sam," Cas tried to subtly say 'you're too young'.
"I want to marry her. When I go to college, it'll be just me and her. Dean doesn't want to go to college. At least I don't think he does," Sam babbled.
Cas nodded. "He said that he didn't like any of the schools."
"He's a really good singer," Sam whispered. The conversation ended there, the two turning to the television until dean came back.
"Why are they wearing sunglasses? It's night time," Sam laughed.
"Because they're no talent douchebags," Dean yelled from the window behind the couch. That was were the drive way was. Sam and Cas laughed.
"Watch your mouth," Cas scolded.
Dean laughed loudly and walked around to the front. He came inside with several bags. "Okay, I got potatoes and butter and a masher thing."
"'Masher thing'?" Cas laughed.
"Yeah," Dean pretended to mash potatoes with his hand. "To mash the potatoes."
"Alright," Cas strained as he stood up. He headed into the kitchen, where Dean was taking the food out of the shopping bags.
