"Cas?" Dean called out softly.

Cas turned to face him. "Yeah?"

"Will we always- never mind," Dean trailed off. He couldn't find the right words. They weren't together, so did couldn't say 'will we always be together.' He couldn't say friends, because Dean wants to be more than friends. He might have ruined that.

"What's wrong Dean?" Cas asked, placing his hand on Dean's shoulder.

"I just made a mistake, that's all."

"You can tell me, I won't be mad."

"You promise?" If he promises, then it's for real.

"I might have- I just- I- who was at your house?" Dean quickly changed the subject when he couldn't pull out the courage to tell Cas what he had done.

"Zachariah," Cas grunted. When Dean tilted his head, he said "my dad. Well, my old dad. He's not my dad anymore."

"What happened?" Dean inquired. Was the red mark on his face from his father? Did he hit Cas?

"I- Zachariah found out something about me. He didn't like it. So, he knocked me around and practically disowned me," Cas explained.

"Are you alright?" Dean found himself with his hand on Cas's shoulder, leaning less than two inches closer to him. "What did he find out?"

Cas took in a deep breath and turned his head away.

"He found out I was gay," Cas mumbled, so low that Dean wondered if that was actually what Cas had said.

"You're gay?" Dean asked, fighting the smile threatening to peek out.

Cas slowly nodded, looking up at Dean. Their eyes met, and Cas looked like he was about to cry.

"Come 'ere," Dean ushered Cas to him.

He pulled Cas into a tight hug. Dean took a deep breath and smiled. "This doesn't change anything, Cas. I'll still hang out with you. If anyone gives you any crap, I'll bash their face in."

Cas chuckled into Dean's shoulder. Dean then felt a small tear drip down onto his neck where Cas was.

He pulled Cas away, holding him by the shoulders. "Hey, hey, don't cry." Dean smiled, slowly wiping the tears away from Cas's eyes.

"I just- I've never told anyone but Charlie. Eighteen years of staying silent, crushing on guys and pretending to be attracted to the girls I was set up with, and now everyone knows," Cas sniffled. "I'm just afraid of what they will think."

"I won't let anything happen to you, okay? If anyone wants to pick on you or give you any kind of shit whatsoever, I'll pretend to be your boyfriend. Then let's see what they say," Dean suggested. He hadn't realised what he had said until he said it.

"You'd do that? Really?" Cas's face lit up. "You'd pretend to be my boyfriend?"

"I mean- if you'd like me to," Dean blushed, rubbing the back of his neck. He didn't want to pretend. He wanted to really be his boyfriend.

"I think I might be able to handle them myself, though." Cas grinned as he flexed his muscles. Dean slowly gulped. "But, you could still be my boyfriend. I mean- uh- pretend. Pretend to be my boyfriend." Cas's face turned bright red.

"I could do that, too," Dean mumbled, looking down.

"Do what?"

"Be your boyfriend," Dean looked up, his eyes full of hope and worry. He was throwing himself out there, hoping Cas would pull him in.

Cas froze. Then, he leaned quickly over the console and pulled Dean to him. "I would love that," Cas whispered only centimetres away from Dean. Dean's heart began to beat rapidly. Was this actually happening?

Finally, Dean couldn't take it anymore. The anticipation was killing him. He put his hand around the back of Cas's neck and pulled him closer so their lips met. They locked together perfectly, making Dean smile. It was as if they were made for each other.

Cas's hand traveled to Dean's face and he cupped it, his fingers slowly running along Dean's stubble. The kiss went on for a little while longer, before the two finally pulled away.

"That-" Dean breathed. "I liked that. We should do that again sometime."

"Agreed," Cas chuckled. Dean reached over the console and grabbed Cas's hand. The two intertwined their fingers, making them both smile.

"Let's go watch a movie," Dean smiled, forgetting all about Anna. He was going to have to tell Cas sometime, but not right now. Now was too good of a time to spoil.

"I'd rather get some food. In a movie, we can't talk," Cas suggested.

"Well, then we can get some food and then go to my place and watch a movie," Dean offered, circling his finger on Cas's thigh. Cas took a deep breath and sighed.

"Okay. But I pick the movie," Cas ordered.

"I love it when you're bossy," Dean teased, kissing his new boyfriend on the cheek.

The two drove to a fast food place, not remembering which one. They grabbed burgers and drove back to Dean's house.

"Will Sam mind that we're here?"

"He's with Jess," Dean replied.

"Oh?" Cas smiled mischievously. Then, he pulled Dean to him so their lips met. They kissed, forgetting about their plans. They forgot about everything. All that mattered was the two of them; in this moment.

Dean slowly pulled away, laughing.

"What?" Cas chuckled at the lovely sight of Dean laughing.

"Easy, tiger. We don't rush into things," Dean poked Cas's nose. Cas stuck out his thumb and squinted.

"Alright. Let's go inside," Cas smiled and the two went into Dean's house. They settled on the couch and Cas searched for a movie.

"Cas?" Dean whispered, his voice barley audible.

Cas looked up at Dean, locking their hands together. "Hm?"

"Never mind," Dean smiled.

"What?" Cas adjusted himself in the couch so he was looking at Dean.

"Nothing. I just- you're beautiful," Dean blushed. Cas chuckled.

"You are too," Cas replied as he leaned in and kissed Dean. Cas didn't have to worry about the annoyance of his glasses because he decided to wear contacts from now on.

The door unlocked, but the two didn't notice. They were too busy enjoying their kiss.

"I knew it!" Sam shrieked with joy. "I knew you two weren't just friends!"

Dean and Cas quickly pulled apart, fixing their hair.

"Sam it-" Dean started.

"Really Dean? You're going to try and pull the 'it's not what it seems' crap? I just saw you two eating each other's faces. 'It's not what it looks like' my ass," Sam chuckled.

"Where's your girlfriend?" Dean grumbled grumpily. Cas chuckled.

"Outside in her mom's car. I came in to grab some money," Sam explained.

"Hurry it up then!" Dean shouted. Sam sped to the table and grabbed his money. "And watch your mouth!"

As Sam walked out of the door, Dean thought he was gone so he leaned over Cas and kissed him. Suddenly, Sam came back.

"Don't get any STDs!" Sam shouted before slamming the door and running away. Cas sat in shock, his mouth open. Dean looked over at him and burst out laughing.

Dean waited for a moment. He just stared at Cas, who was now laughing. He couldn't stop staring.

He loved that man.
