Chapter 7

Has Jai like disappeared off the face of the earth?

Today is Friday and I haven't seen him since that day we went for a walk and that was Monday.

Apparently he's in school but I haven't seen him. We only have art on Mondays so we had no shared classes..

Has he already got bored of being near me?
Wow that's a new record! The last record was a week but I guess Jai just bet that.

Like every Friday, today once again I was going to the skate park but for a change this week I decided to go home instead of one of my friends house and then go to the park.
Now that the school day was over I just had to wait for Christina so we could walk home.

"Finally" I said when I saw my sister coming out of the school with a friend. "Hurry up I need to be home." She doesn't care about my plans does she?
"Why do you always take so long when I'm in a hurry?" I questioned probably still sounding pissed off.

"Maybe because I love annoying you." Answered my sister with an innocent smile.

"Whatever. I'm speeding up though because you're walking at the pace of a turtle." This always works on her. She hates walking miles behind me so she speeds up to catch up with me.

We walked in silence just listening to the sound of traffic and my music when Tina began to speak to me.
"Lill is that the Jai guy from our school there on the bench?"

Tina was right, it was Jai sitting on the bench we walked to together. He was all by himself and he seemed to be just staring at the tree a few meters away from the bench.

"Tina you can walk home and I'll go talk to him. Tell mum I'll be home soon."

"Okay" was all she said. I think she was as concerned about Jai as I was. He is too lively to be just sat alone on a random bench after disappearing, from me anyway, for four days.

"Hey." I said sitting on the bench next to him. He's eyes were bloodshot red. He's either, drunk, high or he has been crying. I believe that if he was drunk I would be able to smell alcohol of him. "Where have you been all week?"

"I got suspended on Wednesday" Ya that sounds like my school to be able to hide someone's suspension from the other students. Their good at hiding to the outside how shit this school is.

"Do you want to talk about it?" I asked. There has to be something else apart from the suspension that got him like this. Suspension can't be something new for him. Even I have been suspended.

"Jai what's up?" I asked when I got no reply. "Come on, let's walk to your house. You're a mess." He still wasn't answering me but now he was up and waiting for me to get up too. Well I guess I'm going to find out where he lives so.

We walked in silence with occasional buzzing of my phone. I was probably getting messages from the girls asking where I was because I was now late.

Jai house was a 15 minute walk from the bench and let's just say that I'm pretty familiar with this estate but not for the best reasons... not a good thing to bring up right now.

Jai's house was the last house at the end of the street. It was a normal red brick, two storey house with a little porch.

The second we walked in, someone ran at us and I guess that someone is Luke because he looks just like Jai apart from the fact that he has a dot on his nose, a lip ring and a nose piercing while Jai had an eyebrow ring that makes my mind melt.

Oops I forgot to mention my love for eyebrow rings on guys.

"WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU?!" Jai's twin yelled before realizing I was there. "Oh hey you must me Gillian? Right?"

"Lillian." I said smiling.

"Oh sorry ya Lillian, Jai told me about you." Luke said looking from me to Jai.

"Umm ya. I just found Jai on the way home and ya I want to talk with him so ya...." this was slightly awkward. How does he know about me?

"Ya. Okay maybe you will have more success than we did. Our room is just upstairs. I'll let ye talk." Luke said walking back to what I think is the kitchen.

When I turned back around Jai was already half way up the stairs.

"Ey wait for me Jaidon!" I called after him, laughing lightly to try change the mood a bit but I think my effort is useless.

When I caught up with Jai, he was already sitting on his bottom bunk in the room. I sat across from him on the floor with my legs crosses.

"So tell me everything that happened from Tuesday." I asked cheerfully but my second attempt to lift the mood also failed.

"Tuesday was pretty boring you just happened not to see me around.............."
