Chapter 8

Jai's Pov

I decided just to tell her everything because what did I have to lose? Exactly! You can't lose anything when you have nothing....

"Tuesday was pretty boring you just happened not to see me around." I began. I gave Lillian a small smile to show some emotion. "I got suspended for beating the shit out of that 6th year bastard Jacob. He found out about Jessy and I caught him talking about getting in your pants." I said the last bit so quietly that I was shocked she heard me.

"Who's Jessy?" She questioned ignoring the last part of my sentence. Okay so?

"Jessy is someone who I usually don't talk about but Lillian I trust you." I said.

"Jai, I promise you that what ever you say will stay between us." She said smiling at me.

"So Jessy used to be my girlfriend. She looked a lot like you with her hazel eyes and just like you she couldn't stick to one colour for long." I could feel a lump in my throat but I just continued to speak. "The reason that I'm speaking of her in the past tense is because she's gone now, Lillian she passed away last year and it's all my fault."

I could feel the tears rolling down my face again.

"Jai you don't need to tell me if you don't want to."

"I know but I want to tell you. I want to get it off my chest finally." I took a deep breath before continuing. "I've known Jessy since I was like 2 years old. We were more like brother and sister than girlfriend and boyfriend and that's how I wanted it to be. But as you might know I've been in trouble in my life and at the age of 14 I became friends with the wrong crowd and I also began drinking. At some point I got on the bad side of the leader of the group, Ched and I owned him some money from that one time that instead of delivering the drugs he was selling I threw them off a bridge. I didn't have money to pay him back and I said that if he threatens me I'm going to the police right away and even though he was a badass with a gang he seemed scared and backed off. Or so I thought... He got his people to crash into the car that Jessy was coming home in just to scare me but she died in the accident along with one of the guys that was in the other car. Lillian it's all my fault that she's gone."

I had no more tears left by now... I've been sitting at that bench for most of the day crying and hating on myself.

Now Lillian was sitting beside me on the bed. I just turned around and began to hug her.

"Jai it's not your fault." She mumbled into my shoulder.

"Yes it is but thank you for listening. Thank you for even being here."

Our hug ended when Lillian's phone began to ring.

"Shit. Their gonna kill me." She said before picking up.

"Umm hey... Ya I know ye all have been texting me but something came up and ummm I'm at Jai's house... no Maddison we did not.... tell Julia to shut up... Ya I'll come down... Ya okay I need to contact my mam... Ya okay see you soon bye."

"Maddison?" I questioned even though I knew the answer.

"Ya. I was meant to meet them at the skate park like an hour ago. Jai do you want to come with me?" Is this an opportunity to mess with her a bit?

"Are you going to run away again when I walk in?" I laughed. Wow this talk actually did help me feel better.

"Shut up." She's blushing. This is the first time I see her blushing. "I see you feel better now, I might aswell cancel this invite."

"Too late cutie." I said giving her a kiss on the cheek before standing up.

"What the fuck was that?" She asked.

"I don't know what you're talking about." I said with a smirk. Lillian is right, I do smirk a lot. "I'll be back in like 5 seconds. I just need to go fix myself."

Can't wait to see her 'protective' friends' faces when they see me and her just walk in with out arguing, unless the time of her being nice to me is only when we're alone together.

Man, this girl messes with my emotions so much.

She can make me feel miserable one second and then she can just change my mood by 360 degrees and I'll be once again joking with her.

I want to know what it is that makes her so special.
