Chapter 1: Sakura's New Beginning

It was a warm and sunny day in konohagakure. Birds were chirping and the laughter of children merely six years of age filled the air as they entered the academy excited to take their first step into becoming shinobi.

One young, pink haired girl stood between her two parents being swinged by them as she laughed in joy. Her emerald green eyes twinkled with joy and curiosity.

But it would also be the day she would take her first step into the life of a shinobi and along the way she will have to make choices that could mean life or death. This would be the day, that the life of Sakura Haruno changes.

As the small family approached the doors of the academy Sakura's parents bent down to their daughters height. "This is it Sakura." Her father Kizashi said as a wide grin adorned his face as he placed his hands on her small shoulders. "After this academy you'll be a fine shinobi of the hidden leaf." Her mother stated as she tightened the bow on her forehead.

Sakura looked towards the other kids and grabbed her father's hand tightly. "What if the other kids don't like me. W-what if they make fun of my huge forehead?" Sakura asked with a frown. "Oh Sakura do not worry everyone will absolutely love you." Kizashi ashured as he and his wife stood up.

"You're going to do amazing things Sakura. Don't you worry."

Sakura smiled as her parents hugged her for one last time. "Remeber we'll be home in a week, we have a simple C-rank to deliver some scrolls." Mebuki, her mother, reminded before they walked off. Sakura turned back towards the academy and took a deep breath before walking in.

As she walked along the multiple hallways and stairways she began to feel nervous. Would they like her? Would she make any friends? Her thoughts quickly fled her mind as she arrived at her destination. Take one last deep breath she slid open the door to see kids everywhere running around, talking, laughing and having a great time.

Her attention went towards a group of girls that surrounded a chair. I wonder what's over there she thought before her eyes scanned the room to see a small girl who was twiddling she thumbs. She had pale lavender eyes, dark blue hair and had a small blush on her cheeks.

Come on Sakura! Time to make some friends.

She walked over to the young girl before smiling. "Hi there my name is Sakura Haruno!" Sakura greeted with a wave. "H-Hello m-my name is H-Hinata Hyuga." She greeted with a small smile. "Well Hinata I was wondering if I could sit beside you?" Sakura immediately noticed Hinata's eyes widened.

"Really?" Sakura nodded. As Sakura sat down they began to discuss their life dreams, family and anything to get to know one another. However, from the corner if Sakura's eye she noticed a blonde haired boy sitting alone with his head down. "Hey Hinata who is he?" Sakura asked quietly.

Hinata turned and immediately turned a bright red. "O-Oh t-that's Naruto U-Uzumaki. For s-some reasons everyone a-avoids him, even m-my father told me to stay away. B-But I really want to be his f-friend." Hinata admitted with a sad look in her eyes.

Sakura sadly frowned, feeling sad that this boy was alone. "No we won't have that...come on Hinata." Sakura softly grabbed her wrist and lead her towards the boy. "Hey there." Naruto's head quickly snapped up to see the two girls standing before him, and instead of glares he was greeted with smiles.

"H-Hi."

"My name is Sakura Haruno and this is my friend Hinata Hyuga, we were wondering if we could sit with you?" Naruto's eyes widened and he began looking around. "Are you looking for something?" Sakura asked and Naruto smiled sheepishly.

"No I just wanted to check if this was a prank or something." He admitted while the girls frowned.

"T-this is n-not a prank, d-don't worry. Besides we r-really want to sit beside you." Hinata said. Naruto suddenly had a small blush on his cheeks as he looked at the Hyuga Heiress. "Sure and my name is Naruto Uzumaki and someday I'm going to become Hokage!" He cheered as Hinata sad between him and Sakura.

As, the young children talked among themselves a pair of onyx eyes watched them from afar especially Sakura.

The children cheered loudly as they were released from the academy and into the awaiting arms of their parents. Sakura sadly frowned as her parents were not going to return until next week. With that Sakura began walking back to her home, until she heard someone screaming her name.

"Hey Sakura-chan!" She looked back to see Naruto waving towards her. "Hey there Naruto!" As he stopped he wanted slightly for air.

"Are you walking home alone?" He questioned after finishing his mini break. "Yes I am since my parents are on a mission."

"Well do you want to walk home together? Datte-bayo!" Sakura laughed slightly and nodded. "Sure that would be great."

As they arrived at he house she noticed a few civilians sending glares or looks of shock I'm theur direction. What is with them? "Here is my home Narut-"

As they arrived a group of civilians appeared before them.

"Can we help you?" Suddenly Sakura felt herself being picked up. "What are you doing?!" Sakura noticed them closing in on Naruto. "Don't worry child we are here to save you from this monster." Sakura gasped as she saw someone punched Naruto in the stomach.

"No stop it!!!" They continued the attack as Sakura began pleading.

Kick. Punch

"Stop!"

Kick. Kick

"Stop it!"

Kick. Snap

The last kick ended up cracking one of Naruto's ribs and the boy yelled in pain. Sakura. Had. Enough. "LEAVE HIM ALONE!" suddenly Sakura began to grow a bright pink and the man who was holding her dropped.

"She is a demon too!" She heard someone yell as they ran away. Sakura looked over to see Naruto hunched over. She quickly ran to his aid and Naruto stared at her wide eyed.

"Sakura-chan?" Sakura placed her hand onto his stomach and soon enough all his wounds were healed. Sakura's pink glow soon disappeared leaving the girl to fall unconscious.

"Sakura!"

Sakura woke up groggily finding herself in her home feeling a bit dizzy. "When did I get home." She looked around and found a small note on her bedside table.

Hey Sakura!

It's me Naruto! Anyway thanks for helping back there an healing my wound. :D when you wake up I made you some good. Well I hope you don't wake up while I'm making it, cause that would be weird believe it! Oh yeah anyways thanks again for everything!

Sakura raised her eyebrows in shock. I healed him? She thought before walking down her stairs and found Naruto trying to make dinner and a her kitchen was a huge mess as well as the pan her was using was on fire.

"Naruto!" Naruto turned around to see Sakura and began panicking. Sakura quickly turned off the flames and got a wet rag to put it onto of the fire and put it out. They both sighed in relief and began to laugh.

"Naruto what were you trying to make?" Sakura asked while Naruto blushed in embarrassment. "Well I was trying to make food, and I guess I only made a mess. Guess I'm only good at make instant ramen." Naruto admitted and Sakura smiled.

"Hey don't worry. Besides I can teach you." Sakura said as she grabbed a small apron her parents got her and grabbed a stool for her to stand on. "Well I don't that will be possible for me."

"Well what a shame, Hinata told me she loves to cook." Suddenly Naruto flashed away and appeared again with a chef hat. "Let's get to work believe it!" He cheered.
