Chapter 11
"Excuse me, you there!"
I snapped my head up and saw all heads are turn towards me; sleepiness evaporates into the air immediately. Okay, that was a lie; there was at least 25% left. This is probably the fifth time I have fallen asleep in this class.
"Y-yes?" I stuttered, I have never been comfortable with crowds even though I was a brand ambassador for my mother's fashion line. I have spoken to a whole lot of crowds even before I turn the big eighteen, you would think that I have gotten a lot of practice.
But well, think again.
"Do you agree that our main economic problem is the fact that there are unlimited wants but limited resources?" the professor asked with a scowl on his face.
"Um, I think you age faster than average as you seem to have a hobby of frowning." I point at his forehead, "Look at those wrinkles." I tsked, "If you ever need a beauty consultant I can always give you my sister's number. She is the number one consultant in Paris after all." I said with a laugh before frowning in confusion, "Why am I talking about her? We are enemies for God's sake, any-"
"Stop with your babbling and answer the DAMN question!"
"Okay, calm your horses mate." I cleared my throats, "Yes I do agree that our main economic problem is the fact that we have finite resources but unlimited wants. But, isn't that what our textbooks says? I thought professors are meant to tell us more and beyond what is written in the textbooks. You have been repeating the same thing over and over again since the beginning of this term."
I heard a few snickers around however the professor doesn't seem as amused as my classmates. If he is a cartoon characters, he would have smoke coming out of his ears. I don't see why he is that mad, I mean, it is the truth.
"If you don't like what I TEACH here," he said, emphasizing the word 'teach' for God knows why, "You can leave economics 101 and switch to other subjects."
"But-" I protested before realization dawn on me, "This is economics 101?"
"Um yeah, what do you think?" I heard one of the girls from the front row shouted.
"Business 204?" I muttered before collecting all my books and bags, "No wonder this class is extremely boring. Like seriously, you guys need a better professor who keeps saying things that we have all known and the one that looks like he is about to kill me."
There were complete silence; some of them look horrified while the others look amused. The professor on the other hand looks like a serial killer on the loose.
I made a dash towards the door before anyone could mutter a word. I think it may be wise for me to switch economics 101 to something else; it looks like I just become the professor's target in life. I don't want to graduate this college with economics anyway. I just want something for a change.
I put my coat on as I walk out of the college gate. It is too late for me to attend business 204 and I need a beauty sleep.
I walked into the apartment, yelling "Honey, I'm home!" to which I receive a glare from Nicholas. I grin in return and which only cause him to scoff in annoyance. Mission accomplishes! I grin wider if that is even possible.
"Why are you standing by the door, grinning like a Cheshire cat?" Lucca asked as he emerged in nothing but a pair of Calvin Klein's boxer.
"Because I just made Nicholas scoffed in annoyance." I replied proudly.
Lucca laughed, shaking his head and said, "You are one weird girl."
I smiled, "You have no idea." I look around for any sign of Sienna but it turns out that she has went back to the state for business.
Sienna and I have been close friends since the day we met. We went shopping together and she spilled every single gossips and rumors about Nicholas and Andrew. Through her I found out that Andrew was a very busy man who has no time for women or any kind of entertainment, however, she wouldn't spill on what Andrew actually does.
"What do you mean you have no idea what Andrew does?" She exclaimed with disbelief.
I shrugged, "I haven't step foot on Britain since I was three."
She nodded in understanding and said, "He will tell you when he is ready."
I decided to drop the subject then but made a mental note to ask Andrew about it.
"We are going to a ball tonight." Nicholas said with his eyes still glue on his laptop, snapping me out of my thought.
I sat beside him, trying to look at what he is working on but he angled himself away. "By we, you mean you, Lucca and Andrew right?" I asked. Please say yes please yes.
He nodded, I sigh with relief, "And you too of course."
"But," I whined, "Why?"
"Because we said so," Nicholas said nonchalantly while I sulked beside him.
Growing up, I was always force to attend several balls and parties to promote my mother's fashion line, none which spares me from embarrassment. There are always comments saying that I am not 'suited' for my career as a model because I'm 'fatter' than average models. Or the fact that I was only a model because my mother is a well-known fashion designer. There were always nasty comments thrown into my way, I couldn't do anything but ignore them like it doesn't bother me at all.
But truth is, it does. It hurts more than anything.
AN. Hey guys, I'm so so sorry for the wait. I have been trying to update this chapter for three months now, but Wattpad wouldn't let me. I'm so sorry. But no worries, I'll be updating soon, most probably next week.
