6 months. 6 months since I've ran away. 6 months since I've found Tyler and Greg. 6 months of having a family. 6 months of hard core training. 6 months of being free. Now, 6 months left.
I sighed and sat down at the dinner table. Eric looked at me.
"Madison are you ok?" He asked.
I nodded,"Yeah, I was just thinking about my father."
"I think about my parents a lot too." He said sadly.
"Eric just know, I will avenge your parents. I am so sorry you had to go through the pain you did and I promise you will have a better life when I am queen." I declared.
"Faith?" He asked.
"Yes?" I said.
"Can I stay by your side. Like a little brother to you and Greg." He asked.
I nodded,"Of course. I promise I'll never leave you."
We locked pinkies and smiled at each other warmly. Jason's mate Kara put food on the table and we dug in.
It has been a long 6 months here. Everyone in our pack knows I'm the princess and they refuse to turn me in because they know I'm going to make a difference.
Tyler and Greg sat down across from us. Jason ran inside. "Guys we need to talk." He stood at the end of the table breathing frantically.
"What is it Jason?" I asked.
"Your father sent out guards to check every pack within 600 mile radius. Faith their coming here you need to go and fast they are already on the 300 mile mark. Philip contacted me." He said frantically.
I looked at everyone of the pack members who gathered in the kitchen. My eyes watering. They are like my family and I have to leave.
"Ok, guys pack up we'll be leaving at dawn." I said. I stood up and walked outside without a word.
I sat in my field. The sky was dark and everything was quiet. There was fog in the trees and around me. I tried to focus on being strong.
The fog seemed to shape itself. There's the pack females, Warriors, alpha Jason, and the children in the pack that I've trained before.
All together the fog disappeared. I sat still and cried silently. I finally found respect and a pack, a family that cared. Now I have to leave because my past is constantly haunting me. Now I have to tear Tyler, Greg, and Eric away from a great life to run with me.
Greg walked up and sat next to me. Minutes passed before he spoke, "it's alright Faith. We will return one day and be with our pack. We won't be hiding we'll be living without worry of mother finding us. Everything will be great when we come back but we have to leave in order for it to be good."
I snapped,"I can take them all now, I can do this now!"
He shook his head and looked me in the eyes.
"We all know you aren't mentally ready to kill her. It is alright to be scared Faith. We're going to move on and we're going to train our hearts out and when the time comes we're gonna fight!" He spoke confidently. Everyone is so confident in me. My heart ached with sadness.
"I want this to end now." I said.
"Well that's too bad princess. It hasn't even started yet." Tyler said walking up.
I sighed and nodded. I have to accept the truth. What lies ahead has not even started yet and it's already terrifying. I need to be stronger, I need to be emotionally blank. I will be emotionally blank so I can do this for my kingdom, for my friends, and for my family.
"Let's head in we need to finish packing up and get plenty of rest." I said.
I woke up at the crack of dawn. I walked to my brothers room and banged on the door. He walked out and went to get Tyler up. I walked to Eric's room and opened the door quietly. I walked over and kissed his forehead.
"Eric come on it's time to wake up." I whispered.
He rolled over and groaned. I chuckled and walked over to get his duffle bag. I examined his room to make sure nothing was left behind. A picture frame sat on his dresser. It was of him and I. I quickly snatched it and put it in the bag and zipped it shut.
Eric got out of bed and followed me out of the room and downstairs. Jason Tyler and Greg were sitting in the kitchen. I grabbed Jason in a tight hug. "Thank you for all you have done."
"Your welcome. Promise me you'll come back and visit one day." He said quietly.
"I promise, I will." I said with all honesty.
"Be safe." He whispered kissing my forehead.
"I'm always safe." I said tearing up.
I pulled out of his embrace and nodded at my brothers and Tyler. Greg had two duffels one his and the others was Eric's, Tyler had his, and I had mine. We shifted into our wolf forms and walked outside.
"Goodbye my family I will see you when you return." Jason spoke. With that, we ran.
