Chapter 10

I punched the man in the nose repeatedly with no mercy. Finally he submitted. I spat next to his face on the ground and got off him. Lucas threw the man a towel.

"Where did you come from." Lucas growled.

The man held the towel to his nose and glared at Lucas with cold eyes. Lucas sighed and smacked the rogue around a little bit more before he finally gave in.

"Alright, alright! I killed a pack member while sparring! He was a huge jerk and he made me so angry all the time and I wanted him gone! I killed him on purpose!" The rogue snarled.

"Why'd you come here? You obviously don't want to join. You sentenced yourself to death by walking in here with intentions to harm a pack member." I said dangerously.

Lucas' eyes turned black,"You've nearly killed that guard who has a pup on the way and two small children. Do you understand how many people you could have hurt by killing him. You could have torn apart a whole family! We will not take this lightly, no rogue is coming to our territory threatening the life of one of our pack!"

Lucas mind linked some guards. I left the room and went upstairs. I could hear pain filled screams as I walked out.

I went to the kitchen to find Eric and his friend Marcie sitting at the table enjoying cookies and milk. I winked at Eric as I walked over and he blushed.

"Hey kiddos, how are my two favorite pups?" I asked stealing a cookie.

Marcie giggled,"I'm great! Eric was telling me how you guys ran over two days straight to get here that's awesome!"

I smirked at Eric. He's impressing the ladies already. That's my boy.

"Did he tell you about that one time he helped me fight off a rogue. He nearly tore off its leg!" I said proudly. It's true, Eric and I went on a walk and were attacked by rogues. The little guy sent them running.

"No way! That's awesome! Eric the rogue slayer!" Marcie yelled giggling.

Eric laughed, stood on the stool and puffed out his chest with his hands on his hips. We all laughed and I threw a piece of cookie at him.

Greg and Lucas ran in and snatched Eric and Marcie. They held them up and ran around making airplane sounds as the kids laughed and screamed with joy. I smiled at the sight as I felt warmth spread through me.

It's been 2 months since I've broken down and 2 months since I've gotten back up. 2 months since I've been here. I've been training my hardest and bonding with my family.

Jinx refuses to let go of our pact even though Tyler has been excluded. I hear them argue about it all the time and I found out that Jinx has been sneaking to talk to Greg at night. Also we decided to let Scold in on it too, he is very honored to be a part of it.

Last week was Lucas' 18th birthday and unfortunately I'm not his mate. Although, we are happy together and he hasn't found his mate yet. I love him with all my heart and it was devastating to find out we weren't mates.

Today just so happens to be my 17th birthday. I've received word from Philip saying that they are having a releasing of the lanterns in the kingdom for the princesses birthday. Acts like this are from people who care and that means my father was the one who put out the message. I think.
