We have been running for five days straight and it's midnight. We collapsed on the ground on pack territory. Eric looked like he would pass out any second. I could tell they were all about to.

I sighed, "We'll stay here for a while to train."

They all passed out within seconds after I said that. Well thanks guys now I have to deal with this on my own.

As if they were reading my thoughts rogue wolves emerged from the trees growling dangerously. They probably think we're pack members. Exhausted I let out my power and my wolf took over. Snarling and growling I attacked the biggest wolf to the ground.

Within seconds the wolf was dead along with the others as Tyler and Greg woke up. Eric still slept deeply. I smiled at him although he'd probably be scared because I'm in my wolf form so my smile looks scary already but I'm also all bloody. Greg sat to guard Eric as Tyler and I went and got washed off in a nearby stream. The water was cold and relaxed my tight muscles.

"Tyler do you think this will ever get better now?" I linked him without emotion. With every stride I take away from home my emotion seems to fade.

"I don't know Faith." He looked at me with sad puppy dog eyes.

We walked back to Greg in silence and we watched Eric as Greg went to the stream. I focused my hearing towards the stream just in case. Tyler sighed and looked around. I felt a slight tickle on the back of my neck. "We're being watched." I said quietly.

Tyler nudged me and I looked at a tree he has been staring at. It had a pack crest on it. I heard a growl from the stream. It was a deathly one that I know all too well. "Get him to safety." I said. Tyler quickly picked up Eric and ran. I ran towards the stream.

"Come get me but leave them alone!" I said dangerously. Wolves started pouring out of the trees. The stream came into sight and Greg was standing there with a wolf almost as big as us. He must be an alpha.

The trail of three large wolves behind me got their attention. I ran beside Greg and we both growled as the three wolves circled us. The Alpha stood watching closely. Suddenly they all pounced at once, something that caught me off guard. Usually wolves attack one by one.

Greg faught off two as I battled with one. "Don't kill." I linked Greg. I bit into a special spot on the wolves neck as Greg did to one of the wolves and they both fell. I quickly caught the last wolf as it lunged for Greg and bit their neck causing them to pass out.

We looked to the Alpha who seemed heart broken. He looked at us with anger in his eyes. He ran after us but I quickly shifted, "Stop!" He stopped and looked at me bewildered. "I want to chat."

He huffed and shifted. He was an older man. I made sure to keep my eyes leveled with his.

"You killed my wolves." He snarled.

"No I didn't they're sleeping." I stated calmly.

He looked at them hopefully and sighed in relief. "Thank god. Two of those wolves wives are pregnant and the other has a child. I would hate to give them the bad news."

I looked at him pointedly, "You aren't their alpha anymore are you?"

He shook his head. "My son is, which means you'll be here for five months before you can leave because he is away on business."

I looked towards the way we were running.

"We have them in our care." He said.

I glared at him, "If they are harmed in any way your head will be on a plate." Greg snarled beside me.

"They're safe. We're not stupid we know you guys were just passing through but since we caught you we have to wait for the alpha to clear you. In the meantime we're going to treat you like guests.

Greg shifted, "Let us collect our things."

The alpha waved his hand and two men walked out of the trees with blankets.

"We have your things for examination." He said.

The man placed the blanket around me gently. He let his hands linger on my shoulders for too long and I growled at him. He backed away quickly. Greg chuckled.

"I sense the guys here are gonna try to get real friendly with you Madison." Greg said.

My heart skipped a beat as I realized I haven't found my mate yet.

"Oh yes we have lots of males without mates. Little horn dogs running around all day trying to get with the unmated females." The alpha said.

Greg laughed, "Don't worry sis, I won't let anything happen to you but I am sure you will be able to handle things yourself." He winked.

I grumbled and we started walking through the woods. A large house came into view. Tyler was being held down and Eric was being taken away. Using my supernatural speed I quickly took Eric from the man's arms that was taking him away and kicked the men off of Tyler. I growled as the men tried to come after me and they glared at me.

I held Eric tightly in my arms daring a wolf to take a single step.

"Stand down Jinx." The Alpha said.

"That's my brother." He growled out.

Eric looked at him surprised. My heart sank into my chest.
