Chapter 3

It was a long bumpy ride to where ever the hell they were taking me. When they took off the cloth bag I took a deep breath of fresh air. My face felt extremely sweaty and my eyes had a hard time adjusting to the light. They grabbed me by the arms again and pulled me into a huge abandoned looking house. My bare feet scraped against the gravel and I cringed. I lifted up my legs putting all of the weight into the guys' hands.

The inside is nothing like the outside. My feet loved the carpets, I know that for sure. The inside had nice white walls and ivory colored carpets. The dining room which was to the left had a nice wooden table and wooden chairs. The living room, which was to the right, had recliner chair, a three cushioned couch, and a love seat. The end tables had a lamp and a candle on each one. I have no idea who cleans and stuff but this didn't really seem like a house guys would live in.

The stairs, which were straight ahead, is where we were going. Once to the top I looked both to the right and the left. To the left there were three rooms, to the right there were a lot, like seven or eight.

We went to the left. We went to the room all the way to back wall. Once the door opened I was shocked. There were two beds, both had on light purple sheets and dark purple comforters with matching pillows. There were night stands by both of them. They consisted of an alarm clock and a bag.

"This is your room, you decide which bed you want, your roommate isn't here yet," said Luke.

I just nodded and stood still while both him and Ben left, shutting the door. I chose the bed on the right, I sat down on it and looked around the rest of the room. The only other things there were was two dressers and a door. I'm guessing it was a closet, I walked over to it and opened the big white door.

It was a closet, a huge closet. On each side there were long bars, on the bars there were probably a hundred identical white hangers. I went back to my bed and looked at the night stand. The alarm clock was just plain and the bag was small and black. I picked up the bag and unzipped the red zipper.

There was a toothbrush, toothpaste, pads, a hairbrush, and all the other things you could think a girl would need. There was also a note at the way bottom.

"The bathroom is across the hall. The bathroom and your room is the only rooms you are aloud to be in in the time being."

I slowly opened our door and looked across the hall. There was a bathroom across the hall in between my room and the other door next to me.

I grabbed my bag and went into the bathroom. The bathroom was filled with different sized towels. I decided to take a shower because the other girls wouldn't be here for hours. You're probably wondering how I know this, and it's because on the way there I heard all the reasons us girls are here.

There is going to be two cooks, I will be rooming with one of them. The other cook and a cleaner/maid will be in the other room. You are probably wondering what my role is and don't worry, I am too. They wouldn't say what I was here for. They did say my job was the most important though so I am kind of confused. I just felt like breaking down, everything is so messed up now.

I finished my shower and went back to my room, I sat down on the purple bed and hugged my knees. The clock read 4 p.m., I think the competition was just starting now. I laid down and cried myself to sleep, I couldn't help but feel like I would never see my mom or brother again. Everything I've accomplished in life is gone because of one night, one guy. All my memories with my family and friends, it's probably the only thing I have left.

*The P.O.V of the Cooks*

******************************************************

Today is the big day. Today my twin sister and I will be competing in our local cooking competition. We both are somewhat experienced and have a dream. We both want to go to college to become professional chefs. It's our senior year and decided to enter in the competition as a goodbye party. We got accepted to different colleges and I don't know if I have it in me to be away from her for long.

The competition starts at four and ends at five. It is currently three-thirty and we are in line getting our numbers. Since we are on a team and twins we decided to match. We are both wearing black leggings and a light blue t-shirt saying "twins". Pretty basic if you ask me.

"What is your name miss," asked a lady looking to be in her mid 40's.

Cassidy, and this is my sister Rylie," I said smiling.

She looked at her sheets and handed us our name tags and numbers. We were number 657.

The numbers don't really make sense because there are only 10 teams but we don't question it. We went to our area and looked at all the people in the bleachers. There had to have been almost the whole town here. Which isn't much saying we only had about five hundred people in our town but it's still nice to see everyone together.

We found our dad and older brother at the top left. Our dad was waving as our brother just sat on his phone looking bored. He doesn't really like leaving his X-box, we had to bribe him with food to come out. How he stays skinny is beyond me.

I look at Rylie and notice her sweating and looking nervous. She has anxiety and gets more nervous around people then I do. I walk next to her and grab her hand.

"Everything will be fine, today will be great," I whisper in her here.

She nodded gulping but looking a little more calm, "I need to go get a drink," she whispers back.

I nod in understanding, it's pretty hot out today. Getting dehydrated is the last thing either of us need right now.

I watch her walk away to the parking lot. My dad packed us a couple water bottles and we forgot to grab them. I pulled out my phone and looked at the time, three fifty-five. I hope she hurries up, it won't be to good if we aren't ready in time.

I waited about three more minutes till I decided to go look for her. She still hasn't come back yet and it's starting to worry me that she ditched out.

Once I got to the car I saw the SUV door wide open. I saw the lunch box with water bottles on the ground and I realized something wasn't right.

"Rylie! Rylie!" I screamed walking around the parking lot.

By a little blue car I found her yellow and black flip-flop. I bent down to pick it up, once in my hand I looked at it with tears in my eyes. She was gone and it was all my fault, I should have stayed with her. I turned around and saw a man holding Rylie with a gun to her head. I dropped her flip-flop gasping, she had tears streaming down her face.

"Come with me or I'll shoot you both," the man said with no hesitation. I knew he was being very serious and nodded my head.

"Please don't hurt her," I pleaded. I looked over to her, "I'm so sorry Rylie."

I walked to the man and went with him willingly, he shoved us in the back seat of a black car and drove off. I sat there holding Rylie feeling ashamed and scared. I shouldn't have let this happen. We might die today and it will be all my fault. It's crazy how fast everything can change.

This chapter held a lot of meaning and I want you to vote if you agree with either.

1) Your whole life can change in an instant

2) You will blame yourself for something that isn't your fault

Some things happen that are beyond our control but we cant let it change our lives forever. We have to accept that some things happen and it isn't our fault.

If you can't relate to this will you try to think of someone that can? Thank You ;p
