Autumn and Mike (ABANDONED [maybe start again after I get more readers...?})

Chapter Eight: Meeting New People

Will's POV: I saw three figures heading towards us. All I could make out was two girls and a boy. I nudged Autumn, who was still asleep. She instantly woke up without question.

Suddenly, one of the girls called out, "WILL?"

I looked up. It was Jacklyn, daughter of Athena. She never told anyone her last name. Little melo-dramatic actress.

"Hey guys!" I replied casually. "What the heck, Will? There is a freaking sword in your leg!" Jacklyn almost-shouted. I waved at my wound dismissively. "Oh, that? I forgot about it. I'm alright, only 'cause she healed my leg." I addressed Autumn.

"So, who's she?" Skye asked. Skye was my half-sister, seventeen years old. Her birthday was in about a month. "Well, she's my...I don't know," I looked at Autumn for explanation. She tilted her head. "I guess I'm your sister, but your friend scientifically." I raised my eyebrows. "Well then, she's my sister, but friend scientifically." I made air quotations.
"So you're my half-sister, then?" Skye asked Autumn. "Sure..." Autumn muttered.

"Is something wrong?" Skye asked Autumn. "No." She replied stiffly. I gave Autumn a little nudge. "Hey, sis, don't be so mean." She glared at me. "Anyway," Skye said, breaking the silence, "I'm Skye. What's your name?"

"I'm Autumn."
"She's Autumn." Autumn and I said at the same time.

"Okay then, now that we know each other, can you tell me what's wrong?" Skye asked. For a moment, I was afraid Skye was going to get beat up. After all, she was like that naïve girl, and Autumn? If you did a thing to her, she'd send you to Hades. No offense to him.

Luckily, though, Autumn caved in and told Skye. "Apollo adopted me. He's not my actual father; my dad is Poseidon. But Dad didn't want me to get hurt, so he pretended like he never had a daughter and I was just another one of the sun god's children." She said harshly. I wasn't expecting this at all. When Autumn first came to me, she was broken and in need of an older brother to protect her. But now...now, I don't know what's gotten into her.

"Oh." Both Skye and Jacklyn said. And there was silence for awhile. Not the peaceful silence, but the awkward one. The one where you find out this girl has had a harsh life and and her friends and family died.

"You know, I'm surprised Blueberry-." Jacklyn got interrupted by Connor. "OH MY GOD! YOU'RE POSEIDON'S DAUGHTER!!! THAT IS LIKE, SO COOL!!!" He shouted. "-Hasn't spoken yet." Jacklyn finished.

Autumn was smiling a little now. She cleared her throat. "That awkward moment when Connor starts fangirling over me, even when he has a girlfriend."

Skye blushed. "How did you know?" Autumn shrugged. "Just a guess."

Jacklyn glanced at her watch. "It's getting late. We better go." "Yeah, the sun's setting." Connor added. "Alright, bye." Autumn said. "See you later?" Skye nodded. "Yeah." As they left for their quest, I yelled, "Stay safe!" Skye turned around and waved goodbye. "We will, Will!"

Autumn's POV: I stayed awake the whole night, not because I couldn't sleep, but because I had slept too much yesterday, even though Will was snoring lightly.

Suddenly, I heard rustling from behind me. I spun around to find a sword pointed at my neck. Its wielder was a girl, the same age as me.

I slowly pushed the tip of the sword away from my throat. "Um, who are you?" I asked. The girl sneered. "Where is he?" I raised an eyebrow. "Okay then, I'm Callista. But, where is who?" The girl's eyes flashed murderously. "Him." Very definitive. "Well, I do not know who art thou speak-eth of." I joked. But then something clicked in my head, then my eyes widened.

"Y-You mean Mike, don't you?" I said. "Well, I don't know where he is, and don't want to know. I hate him!" The girl's eyes softened a bit. "Did he-do...it-to you?" She said. "No," I responded. "But my friend died from "it"."

"Oh." The girl said. "I'm Alyssa Rossi. Sorry about the dramatic approach."

"S'ok." I said. The girl-Alyssa-nodded. "Well, I believe I'll tell you my story. So, I'm twin sister to Octavian, the augur at Camp Jupiter. I had prophesying powers like him, except father favored me more and extended my powers. Octavian got jealous and tried to kill me. I barely escaped. A few years later, I met Mike, who was the sweetest guy ever. But...I foresaw what he was going to become, what he was going to do, and broke up with him." Alyssa bit her lip. "He got too sad and his soul left him. Then, a demon corrupted him, causing him to do all those things. I tried to tack him down to get him to embrace his humane side, but it won't work." She folded her hands. "I've been looking for an antidote ever since."

I felt sorry for Alyssa, but at the same time, mad. She killed my friend, Jessica. And wounded many others.

Alyssa saw the look and my face and murmured, "Sorry. I thought it was for the better." She turned away. "I have to go now. Bye." "Wait, Alyssa!" I called. She turned around. "Oh yeah, I have to get the sword of truth." Alyssa grinned at me like she knew something at didn't. She then ran off into the night.

Mike's POV: "I have to go now. Bye." Alyssa said. "Wait, Alyssa!" Autumn shouted. Alyssa turned around and told Autumn something I couldn't process, then ran off. This is it, I thought. I have to tell her.

I stepped out into the open. "Autumn." She looked at me. "Mike? Is that you?" I smiled at her. "Yes." She almost cried. "I'm sorry I treated you like that." She whispered. "It's okay. Just remember I love you, okay?" I gave her a full kiss on the lips, and even though it only lasted for a few seconds, it still felt good. "Okay." Then I left just as Alyssa had.
