Autumn and Mike (ABANDONED [maybe start again after I get more readers...?})

Chapter Two: The Quest Begins

Camp Half-Blood

Autumn's POV: Just a normal day at Camp Half-Blood. The Apollo boys are playing basketball, Mike is annoying people, the Stolls are stealing stuff, Aphrodite children are match-making, the Ares cabin is picking fights, and all is well. Well, except for the fact that Percy, Annabeth, and Grover have been summoned to go on another quest. The three were the best questing trio, which meant whatever mission they were sent on must be dangerous and top-secret. Not good.

The campers have started spreading rumors about what's happening. I wanted so badly to find out what was going on! Hmm, maybe I can do what the Stolls did to Phoebe a few years ago. I'll poison Annabeth's T-Shirt and plead Chiron to let me go with Percy. I mean, who needs that little know-it-all Annabeth anyways? If only Percy Jackson knew how much I cared for him...in a sisterly way, I mean.

"Autumn! Autumn!" Ugh, who's that? "What?" I groaned, still dreamy about getting to know Percy . "Get your lazy butt off that bench!" My friend Katie Gardner called. "Why?" I whined. "I feel perfectly comfortable here." "Autumn, let's go!" Katie tried to pull me off the bench. Fortunately, I'm stronger than her. "Just tell me what's going on." I murmured.

Why did Katie have to shake me away from my daydream? I could tell something was about to happen. Something including me and Percy. "Audie, don't you know? The rumor's all around! You are getting sent on a quest!" Katie jumped up and down excitedly. My head instantly perked up. "Really?" I had only been on a quest once before, and I'd be thrilled to go on one again, especially with Percy. Maybe Annabeth did get sick or poisoned after all, and I did have a chance to get together with Percy.

"Yep!" Katie replied. "That's great! Who am I going with?" Please be Percy, please be Percy, please be Percy...
Katie stopped jumping. "Oh, about that. You're going with...Mike." I winced as she said Mike. Seriously? My first quest in three years and I'm going with that sorry excuse for a hero?

"Are you kidding me? Are you fu-" I attempted to curse, but Katie covered my mouth. "Aw, come on, Autumn, maybe he's not that bad." I huffed. "I'm not going on a quest with HIM!"

"Autumn, he risked his life for you to go on that quest." Huh? "What? How?" "Well, he kinda sabotaged Percy, Grover, and Annabeth, and you know what the penalty for that is. After he sabotaged them, he begged Chiron to give you a chance, on one condition: he got to go with you."

I was at a loss for words, but I finally said something. "But why? He hates me!" Katie shook her head. "You know boys. They pretend to hate you when they actually really care about you." I was upset at the same time...confused. Why would Mike do this for me? It didn't make sense. "Anyway, Chiron sent me to ask you if you would accept the offer." No. No way. No way I was falling victim to that menace. What he did was too much. "No." I stated plainly. "No." Katie looked at me in disbelief. "But-" I cut her off. "That's my decision and it's final."

Katie's POV: Ughhhh, I ship her and Mike sooo much! Only if there was anything I could do to make Autumn go on that quest. As I walked back to the Big House, I started coming up with ideas. Then, I found the perfect one. I smiled. Chiron was waiting for me on the porch. Perfect.

"Hi, Chiron! Autumn came up with her answer!" I greeted the centaur cheerfully. Chiron shook his head. "Took her long enough." I smiled. "But it was worth it! She said yes!" Chiron had a look of surprise on his face. "Really? Well, I guess that's good. Tell her to pack. She'll be leaving soon." I nodded at Chiron, then walked back to Autumn.

Did I feel guilty afterwards? Well, kind of. But it's worth it, isn't it? Autumn was standing at the place I left her. "Hey, Autumn." "Hey. What'd Chiron say?" She inquired. "Well, Chiron said it was okay, and he understood."

"Oh. Okay, then." "Hey, Autumn? There'll be other chances. This isn't your last one." She nodded at me knowingly, but with a little hesitance, as if part of her wanted to actually go on the quest.

Well, it's not to late at all, Autumn! I can't wait for her to go on that quest! "Also, Audie, I saw my sister on the way there. She says she wants to get to know you and hang out a bit, so go on your way!" That wasn't true, but I needed her to get away from her cabin. "Okay." Autumn said, then went away to find Merissa.

"Hey, Katie, whatcha up to?" My boyfriend Travis addressed me."Y'know, Trav. Doing stuff." I replied simply. He raised an eyebrow. "Okay, then. Well, I wanted to ask you if we could go on a date sometime tomorrow? Maybe seven?" "Sure!" I answered Travis and gave him a little peck on the cheek. "Okay, see you later, Kate!" He called as he left. I know, I know, Trav and Kate? Sappy names, but we love each other so we can call each other whatever we want!

Apollo's Cabin

I took out one of my backpacks and stored it with Autumn's clothes and all. She'd need the stuff for her trip. "Hi, Katie. What're you doing to Autumn's things?" Autumn's brother, Will Solace asked. "Hi, Will. And I'm just packing for Autumn's quest. She asked me to pack for her." "Oh, okay. Well, make sure she has everything she needs. And also this." Will reached under Autumn's pillow and pulled out an iPod. I smiled. Will was a pretty good brother. Will saw me smiling and said, "Hey, don't judge." "I won't." I promised him, still smiling. I left the backpack on Autumn's bed and left her cabin.
