Rosie's POV
Ruby took some time off work the next day to help with the whole wicked witch problem. She walked into the Sheriffs station with me close by her side, everyone was sitting around waiting for us except for Hook and Henry who weren't here "hey Ruby, Rosie" Emma greeted as we walked in, Ruby smiled and took a seat next to Belle while I settled for the middle of the floor "hi" I barked in response. Emma nodded and looked up at everyone "okay so we need to figure out who the wicked witch is now before she can do anything else to us" Emma said quickly. Everyone nodded and began talking amongst themselves, I let out a small howl to Ruby "tell them about last night" I growled, she nodded as everyone looked at her "last night when Zelena came in Rosie thought there was something odd about her" she explained, everyone inched forward eager to hear more "yesterday when she was in Gold's shop his scent was everywhere so she memorised it and that was all she could smell off Zelena last night" she explained, everyone gasped "along with strong Lily perfume and coffee but that's not the point" I growled causing Ruby to giggle. Emma lent down to my level and stroked me "looks like we've got a sniffer wolf" she said jokingly with a smile, I wanted to snap but I figured it wouldn't do any good so I ignored her comment. "Do you think you can follow her trail to wherever shes keeping Rumple?" Belle asked her voice fully of fear and hope. I podded over to her and rubbed my head against her legs in a comforting way "ill try" I whimpered, she smiled at she tickled me behind the ear. Everyone got to their feet "well me, David and Regina are gonna go into the woods to see about the berries we found in Regina's office so Ruby and Belle do you guys wanna go with Rosie?" Emma asked, Belle and Ruby got to their feet and nodded. Before we went our different ways Ruby walked over to Emma and hugged her "I'm sorry about Neal" she whispered, Emma returned her hug and nodded "its okay Rubes" she said pulling away. We made off towards Gold's shop so Belle could use some of that animal communication potion that she used yesterday. Once we were finished we headed off so I could try and catch her scent, I soon caught it and we followed it to a farm house on the edge of town. "Hey!" we heard a voice yell, I jumped and growled but it turned out to be Emma "we ended up at the same place, is that a good thing or not?" she asked, Belle and Ruby shrugged. The wind changed and I caught her scent once again and it was coming closer "Run!" I let out a fierce growl, Belle and Ruby nodded as they grabbed everyone and started to take off in a run "whats going on?" Emma asked frantically as she regained her balance "Rosie told us to run" Belle replied, Emma looked confused "we'll explain later just go" yelled Ruby as they made their way deeper into the forest. Me on the other hand, I didn't follow them. I turned at darted towards the farm house, there was a line of barbed wire fencing surrounding the perimeter. I found a loose threat and deliberately wound my paw in it, I whelped in pain. I limped towards the house with my paw held close to my chest, I barked out a whimper. The door to the storm cellar flew open to reveal the Dark One, I whimpered in both fear and pain "there's no one here, just a wolf cub" he yelled before heading back into the cellar, I heard a loud clang before Zelena appeared in front of me. I half expected her to close the cellar but she didnt "are you hurt little one" she said inching towards me, I limped backwards slightly pretending to be afraid. I swear Ruby and Emma owe me big time for this, she put her fist out towards me allowing me to sniff her and so she knew that I wasn't going to attack her "i wont hurt you" she said kindly, I stood where I was and allowed her to scoop me up in her arms and carried me down into the cellar. There I saw Rumplestiltskin sitting at a spinning wheel doing what he does best, spinning straw into gold. She walked over to his cage and padlocked it "stay here doll, wont be long" she spat, he stopped spinning briefly "it wont be long until they figure it out Zelena" he hissed, so my theory was correct. I let out another whimper causing the Dark One to look straight at me, I shuddered and buried my face into Zelena's arm "oh come now Rumple, I think we both know that I will confront Regina sooner rather than later" she said with a small hint of maniac laughter towards the end, I shuddered. She realised that she had frightened me and tickled me behind the ear "and when do you plan on doing that?" he spat before returning to his spinning wheel "tonight" she hissed before leaving the cellar. Okay so either this witch was and idiot or just extremely stupid. She locked the cellar and made her way to the farm house "lets get you fixed up" she whispered as she soon my inside. It was pretty bare if I'm being honest but there was the basic necessities, she walked into the living room and lay me down on the coffee table "ill be right back little one" she smiled before walking off. I took in all the scents around me, it was a bit musty and that caused me to sneeze "bless you" she said coming in with water and a first aid kit. She started working on my paw, using a pair of tweezers to pry the barbed wire out from my paw. I yelped in pain "I'm sorry little one, it'll hurt less in a moment" she said tickling me under the chin before pulling out the last bit. She dipped a clean cloth into the bowl of water and cleaned my wound causing me to growl in pain as the water stung my wound. When she was finished she wrapped my paw in a bandage and used her magic on it "that'll make it heal quicker" she said with a smile. I don't understand... how can someone who is being so nice to me be so cruel to everyone else? I couldn't help but like her, I couldn't stop myself she was being too nice to me for me not to like her. I let out a happy bark before licking her cheek playfully which caused her to giggle. She let out a sigh "you know you seem to be the only thing that likes me at the moment" she said laying her hand on my back, I sighed, okay now I really feel bad for her. I whimpered and cuddled my head into her neck, she smiled "lets see if we can find you something to eat, hm?" she offered, I barked happily as she scooped me up in her arms and carried me to the kitchen. She set me down on the counter and began searching her cupboards for something to eat. She quickly made herself a chicken sandwich and put what remained of the chicken on a plate for me. "Here you go little one" she said putting the plate down in front of me, I barked and took a bite out of a piece of it. She bit into her sandwich "do you have any family?" she asked, I shook my head. I planned on keeping Ruby a secret so I played the 'I'm a lost cub and I'm all alone' card, she sighed "i have a sister but she doesn't know that" she sighed, I know how that feels lady. "Her name is Regina" she said with a scowl, I perked up my ears. Regina is her sister? And she plans on challenging her? What? "She always got everything, I was abandoned by my mother but her she kept" she said as a tear fell down her cheek, I whimpered as I licked her cheek trying to cheer her up. She smiled slightly, I feel like I can relate all too much to Zelena. She's just misunderstood, she's acting upon jealousy but it wasn't her that drove her to it. It was loneliness and fear of being unwanted that drived you to this. I understand how she's feeling all too well. My mother kept me hidden, refused to let me speak or be seen with the other wolves I was basically a hidden exile. She thought I was dangerous, a monster and that the other's shouldn't know about the gift I had but she saw it as more of a curse than a gift. She watched me carefully "you know how I feel don't you? I saw the way you reacted" she said, okay so this witch wasn't stupid she was just an idiot. I nodded and let out a small whimper, she tickled me behind the ear. I ended up staying with Zelena longer than I expected too, after a few hours she took off my bandage and my paw was fully healed "there you go little one" she said setting me on the ground, I felt no pain in my paw what so ever. I looked up at her and barked happily "I'm going to take that as a thank you" she said leaning down to my level, I leapt up and licked her cheek. She laughed and opened the front door "there you go, you are welcome back any time little one, just watch the fence next time" she said giving me one last pet, I barked happily and scurried off towards the forest.
Once I was out of the witches view I made a mad dash towards town, I had to explain everything. I picked up Ruby's scent quickly and it lead my to Gold's shop where they were all frantically searching "we'll find her Ruby" said Belle soothingly as she wrapped Ruby into a hug, was Red really that worried about me? I let out a small bark causing them all to jump "Rosie" yelled Ruby as she threw herself down to my level and scooped me up into her arms "where were you? You told us all to run and you didn't follow" she asked frantically, I stepped out of her hold "listen very carefully Red" I snapped, she nodded and motioned for me to continue. I quickly explained everything that I had found out about Zelena being the wicked witch and everything that she had said, I even mentioned my own views on her and Ruby and Belle took turns explaining as I went. I finished and everyone stared at me "well aren't you one clever pup" David said with a laugh, I let out a small growl which shut him up. "okay so what your telling me is that Zelena is my mothers first born child?" Regina questioned, I nodded and she sighed "well then" she groaned. Everyone started talking amongst themselves and while this was happening Belle slipped away to the back room, I slipped away so no one noticed and followed her. I walked in and found her sitting on a small bed with tears forming in her eyes, I whimpered and leapt up onto the bed beside her. She jumped slightly surprised but she settled once she saw it was me, I lay across her lap "what's up Belle?" I whimpered, she stroked my fur softly "she has Rumple, she's controlling Rumple" she said as a tear fell down her cheek, I whimpered and licked her hand in an attempt to cheer her up "He's a fighter Belle, I watched him argue with her, he's trying to get free" I barked, she sighed and I cuddled closer to her.
Ruby's POV
I couldn't believe what Rosie had told us. Zelena helped her, the Wicked Witch who took away all of our memories and was planning to destroy us healed and took care of my sister. Rosie had said that she wasn't Wicked she was just broken and that she just needed someone to understand her, she explained how she could relate to her after what she went through with our mother. Everyone was planning to go to Granny's for something to eat, I walked into the back room to try and find Belle and Rosie but instead I found Belle fast asleep on the small cot, with a sleeping Rosie cuddled firmly to her side in a protecting way. I couldn't help but smile, I didn't have the heart to wake either of them so I wrap a blanket around Belle's bare arms and left. I walked outside where everyone was waiting for me "where is Rosie and Belle?" asked Snow, I smiled "asleep" I said simply, they nodded and we headed off. Everything Rosie said was right, Zelena barged into Granny's with the Dark One's dagger in hand and challenged Regina to a fight at sundown which was only a matter of hours away. Regina played along very well and pretended that she had no idea what the witch was talking about, pretending that Rosie never told us anything. She also made a threat so set the Dark One loose on the town and kill whoever gets in the way, I'm very glad Belle fell asleep and didn't come. She's broken enough as it is, she doesn't need to crumble anymore.
