Her long black fingernails tapped across the table, she never opened her mouth but I knew she was waiting for me to explain. I wasn't allowed. "Hey" she looked up at me, finally, "I'm sorry. About the other day." She crossed her arms over her chest, "are you?" I nodded frantically, "I really am, and next time I won't leave you waiting all day for me. I promise." Grey leaned forward, "don't make promises you can't keep" I looked at Grey as she smirked at me then back at Sabrina, "I'm sorry." She shook her head slowly as she stood up, "Where are you going?" She looked down at me, "the restroom" I watched her as she walked toward the exit and then out the door. "I don't know why she's so mad." Alice and Grey rolled their eyes almost in sync, "think about how it looks. She opens up to you, tells you everything, you're the first person she's told these things to, she's obviously got abandonment issues, trust issues, and you left, she waited for hours because she trusted you to come back and you didn't." Grey nodded, "and she likes you." Alice hit Grey's arm, "shut up grey" they were right, even though I hadn't thought about that but I should have, Sabrina probably had. I wasn't sure how to fix this but I needed to. "Since she's gone. We have to talk. I think I can break your family curse." My eyes shot towards Grey, "you see I talked to Dorthy. She gave me the name of the woman that casted the spell. Sabarutha Allenson, so I went online, she had a son Devon Allenson, who has a daughter Rutha Allens. There isn't a lot of information on her, she has three kids whose names are hidden, and she's in prison." Alice leaned back, "it skips generations, so Rutha has it. But how are we going to get into a prison?" Grey smirked, "find her kids" Alice laughed, "how do we do that?" Grey pulled her phone out and tapped the screen a few times. "Seth Allens, Jolee Allens, and Jake Allens" Alice looked up, "three boys? Sabarutha had amazing power. It was passed to a daughter, the magic could only belong to a great-granddaughter." Grey pointed at her, "that's what I thought, but her daughter died at birth so Devon might not have had it but Rutha could." I looked over at Alice, "we're going off could? What if she doesn't? What if it died with Sabarutha?" Alice looked at Grey, "she killed the daughter, so the power wouldn't pass on, think about it, no daughter, no power, her grandchildren would be mortal-" I cut her off, "if Devon only had a son. Rutha had two sisters." Grey put her hand up, "Excuse me two half sisters, Rutha was Devon's only daughter, so her magic would be a little bit unpredictable, but if she had a daughter, her daughter's power would be even more amazing if not identical to sabarutha's. There has to be a girl!" I looked at Grey, "was Rutha married?" She nodded, "divorced" I nodded, "her kids could have a different last name. The gender isn't online, Jolee Allens could be a girl." Grey looked down at her phone, "Jolee is the only kid whose real name we can find, Joseph Lee" I was suddenly really disappointed, "why can't we see Jake and Seth?" Grey shrugged, "Jake is over 18 and I don't know maybe Seth is too." I bit my lip, "maybe one is a girl?" We sat there for hours trying to connect the dots but never seemed to get pasted Rutha.
