Chapter 27

**DRAKE POV**

The past few years have been... Progressive.......

Londyn is 6 now and she's gotten used to me. Nicki always warned me about how much I spoil her but, she's my only child and my princess.. How could I not?

My anger never fails to surface and ruin shit but luckily Nicki is understanding and stays with me. I hate hurting her, I really do.

"Drake can you help me with my zipper?" Nicki asked, lifting her hair to reveal the back of her dress.

"I usually prefer unzipping your dresses.. But okay.." I teased.

"Oh my goshh Aubrey! I can't stand you." she turned to me with red cheeks.

"But you love me," I kissed her neck as I zipped her dress.

"Come on we are late." she urged.

"Yeah yeah.."

We got to the venue and met Lauren, Faree, Thembi, and her date at the table.

"Heyyy!" Nicki waved to everyone as we approached them.

"Nika!" Thembi rushed over first and hugged Nicki, "meet Dwayne."

"Is he..?"

"Yes that's him!" Thembi affirmed.

"Awww Im so happy for you!!" Nicki smiled.

I got over the fact that Thembi doesnt speak to me and went to greet everyone else.

**NICKI POV**

"I havent seen you in a whileeeee Thembi what kind of best friend are you!?" I joked.

"Im sorryy Nikaaa I still love you though."

"Nuh uh.. You wouldn't have moved so far away if you did." I pouted.

"You should come visit sometime. And bring my goddaughter, I miss her." Thembi offered.

"Your goddaughter has a father whom I am married to.." I pried.

"And whom I don't associate with." She added.

"You don't have to like him, but respect the fact that he is my husband and the father of my child. Besides, I wouldn't have met him if it weren't for you anyways." I informed as we walked over to everyone else.

"Fine." Thembi rolled her eyes as Dwayne helped her into her seat.

"Everything all right?" Lauren asked looking between Thembi and I.

"Yeah."

"Yep."

We both sipped our water. I rested my hand on Drake's thigh and soon after it was intertwined with his fingers.

After we had recieved our meals everything was calm and normal again.

"Hey Nic what are you doing for your birthday this year?" Lauren asked.

"Oohh yeah we should all go somewhere for it." Thembi chimed in.

"Well Thembi, you're having Thanksgiving at your place this year right?" I asked.

"Oh yeah. I forgot. Y'all gonna come all the way down to Florida?"

"Of course." Lauren affirmed.

"Okay so if we do Florida in November it wouldn't be necessary to go back in December. So like.. New Orleans? I've never been there before..." I shrugged.

"Yeahhhh! That'll be so cool!" Lauren clapped.

"For how long?" Thembi asked.

"Like a week." I stated.

We returned home and put Londyn to bed.

"Noo I don't want to go to bed yetttt its still earlyy!" She protested.

"Londyn go to bed." I said sternly.

"Daddy can we watch cartoons?" She turned to him smiling.

"Sure." He shrugged.

"Aubrey!"

"It can't hurt." He justified.

I shook my head and went into my room, he is going to regret this later.

I went into the master bedroom and turned on my own TV to watch Law and Order SVU. At some point I must've drifted off to sleep.

QOTD: I wanna start some new stories.. Yall got any ideas/Requests??

AOTD: umm... I have 2 ideas. One was like a preacher's daughter type theme. And the other is about Nic being a girl that was adopted and wants to find her birth parents and... Yeah lol. Ima probably do both but yeah leave suggestions Ima eventually incorporate everything okay?
