[Rapunzel]
I was doing the usual, playing the piano and singing little tunes to myself. My mom was out shopping with a friend and like usual I was left home alone. I'd asked my best friend, Merida, if she wanted to hang out but she was at soccer practice, so again it was just me.
My slender fingers brushed over the keys as they travelled to their next note and a soft sweet melody played on my lips.

It was a Sunday afternoon and quite possibly the most boring one yet.

~the next morning~
The horrific sound of my alarm clock's infernal beeping was what startled me enough to fall out of bed.
"Rapunzel! Are you ok my flower?!" My mom yelled in a panicked voice from downstairs.
"I'm fine!" I grumbled. My hand slapped the off button on the machine and immediately the room became quite. I sighed in satisfaction before standing up and heading over to my dressing table.

My room was nice. It wasn't to big nor to small. The walls were originally painted a soft pink colour but as I got older, I decorated them with various paintings. The floor was plain white wood with a baby blue rug strewn across it. I had a white wood four-posted-bed and matching dressing table and wardrobe. I liked soft colours and basically white went with everything.

I brushed through my tangled blonde hair before throwing it up into a loose ponytail. I decided to just wear a soft lemon coloured jumper that hung off one shoulder and paired it with light blue distressed jeans. With that I bounded down the three flights of stairs into the living room where my mom was watching TV.
"Morning." I smiled warmly.
"Good morning my pet." She said as she stood up. As she glided past me she tapped me on the head in a rather patronising manner.

I headed into the kitchen to feed my pet chameleon, Pascal, before grabbing and apple and some yogurt for breakfast. Quickly, I ate up and pulled on my converse then I grabbed my bag and headed out the door for school.
~~~
"Aeright lass!" Merida called as she jogged up to me.
"Hey Mer!" I giggled as I hugged her.
"Let's get inside, class is starting soon. What's your first lesson?"
"Music, yours?" I questioned as we approached our lockers.
"Gym." She replied as she fiddled with her lockers key. "Aha! Yer wee bugger!" Merida grumbled as her locked door flew open. She rummaged around looking for her gym kit and in no time hauled it out. Just as we were about to walk away, a large group of the popular people in our year strode past. They all walked with their heads held high as if they always had something to be proud about.
"Ugh, why 'ave their heads always gotta be so far up their own assholes?" Merida mumbled.
"I don't know. They're so far up they can see again." I chuckled. Merida and I burst into a fit of giggles. Suddenly, one of the populars shot us a glare which silenced us.
"Anyway, I'll see you later." Merida said before leaving for gym. I waved after her before heading to music.
Music was my favourite lesson by far! I loved to play the piano and sing along with the melody, however I hated singing in front of other people. I always refused to work in the same room with classmates so my teacher decided to put me in the sound room with the grand piano.
"Ok Rapunzel," My teacher Mr Smith started, "Today I want you to continue working on your final piece, so try to finish the sheet music and melody and then the lyrics." He said as he handed me my folder.
"Will do sir." I mumbled. I spun on my heel and headed across the hall to the sound room.
~~~
"And done." I smiled to myself as I added the last note to the music sheet. I was just about to go through it again when there was a loud knock on the door.
"Come in." I called out. The door flew open and the last person I expected to see in the music department walked in.
"Oh hello...Jack." I mumbled. Jack Frost, the bad boy of the school was now only a metre away from me. To him I was a stranger.
"Hey um..." He trailed off as he tried to think of my name (which he didn't know!)
"Rapunzel." I finished for him.
"Oh ok, um where's Mr Smith?" He mumbled.
"Teaching." I replied.
"What are you doing in here then?" He smirked. I bit my lip nervously, I didn't really like people knowing this is where I came to play and sing.
"Class work." I replied shyly. I looked down at my fingertips which were resting on the keys.
Suddenly, Jack grabbed a chair from behind me and pulled it up next to me. He plopped down and stared at me straight in the face.
He had really icy blue eyes. I back away a little feeling the need for personal space.
"Play something." He said with a lopsided grin.
"Um no." I muttered a bit sarcastically as I shuffled away some more.
"Please?" Jack mimicked the sound of a begging two year old.
"I don't really like playing in front of people." I whispered. He was really pushing it.
"Ok, how's about I close my eyes so I can't see you playing." Jack suggested. I pondered on the idea for a moment.
"Fine but you have to stand in the corner and face the wall." I giggled.
"Alright!" He chuckled. Jack jumped up from his seat and took place in the corner facing the wall with his hands over his eyes.
"This good?" He said sounding a bit muffled.
"Yeah..." I chuckled. I face the piano again and began to play the song again, without lyrics. I relaxed more as I got further into the song and when I was done I sighed a sigh of relief. I turned around to face Jack only to see him sitting beside me again.
"That was really good!" He mumbled in awe.
"You watched me play?!" I snapped.
"But you were fantastic Punzie!" He held his hands up in defence.
"But I told you I wasn't comfortable with people watching me play the piano." I huffed. This guy! I really wanted to punch him.
"Look you played with me watching without even knowing so I don't see why you're upset." He added, his eyebrows furrowed.
"Clearly." I sighed.

Just then the bell sounded and I hurriedly pack up my things and rushed off. I never wanted to talk to him again!
