[Jack]
When I woke up the next morning, I had to untangle Punzie and I from each other. F*cking hell, last night was something else. As I made breakfast for Punzel, her mom dropped off her packed suitcase and hurried upstairs to say goodbye. Just as I was about to take a stack of pancakes up to my room, Merida and Hiccup burst through the front door.
"Where is she?!" Merida exclaimed, pride was noticeable in her voice and her nostrils were flared in excitement.
"Upstairs?" I replied in confusion. Instantly, Merida bounded up the stairs towards my room. "What's that all about?" I spun around towards Hiccup who chuckled at my frowned expression.
"Girls is all I can say bro." He laughed. Quickly, I took the plate of pancakes up to Punzie who was now sitting up in my bed. She kissed my cheek as I set down the tray.
"Thank you gorgeous, could you give Mer and I a minute?" She grinned.
"Of course." I chuckled, even more confused than before.

[Rapunzel]
As Jack shuffled out of the room, I turned to Merida who was giddy with excitement.
"My little Punzie is all grown up!" Merida squealed as she perched on the bed.
"You weren't kidding when you said the first time hurts..." I giggled as my mind recalled the events of last night. "I feel like I might be walking around like John Wayne!"
"It can't be that bad! Anyway you better eat up, you have to leave for the airport in an hour." Merida reminded. I nodded eagerly at the thought of my holiday in Spain as I cut into my pancakes. "Wait, did you use protection?" Merida questioned, her expression suddenly dropped. The fork stopped halfway to my mouth as soon as she asked the question. Shit.
"Uhh..." I stuttered, trying to think back through the whirlwind of last night.
-Flashback-
Our lips parted and for a minute Jack pulled away fully.
"Wait a sec.." He grumbled as he shifted over to his bedside cabinet. I head the slide of the draw then the crumple of a packet.
"Good thinking." I breathed.
-
"Yeah, we did!" I sighed in relief before shoveling my breakfast into my mouth. Merida exhaled as she stood up.
"Good, one snowman is enough, there doesn't need to be any more runnin' around." Merida winked. "I'll leave yer to it, call me when you get to Spain and I'll see yer in a week." With that Merida hugged me before stepping out of the room. Not a minute later, Jack bundled in and plonked himself on the bed, a smirk plastered to his face.
"Girls and their gossip!" He chuckled. My face burned at his comment.
-Two days later-
Blazing sun, cocktails by the pool, my boy by my side. Can't get better than this.
"Enjoying yourself?" Jack mused as he rolled over onto his back.
"Of course!" I grinned before taking a sip of my drink.
Later that evening, after Jack and I had been to dinner, we stood on the balcony of our hotel room, watching the sun set over the ocean. "Beautiful, isn't it?" I sighed in content, my elbows rested against the metal railings, my eyes transfixed on the suns reflection over the water.
"Not as beautiful as you." Jack gushed as he wrapped his arms around my waist.
"Oh hush you!" I giggled before pecking his lips. As I pulled away Jack leaned in close and kissed me deeply.
"I have one last present for you." Jack whispered against my lips.
"Another one?! Jack you've spoiled me enough already." I stated in dismay.
"I saved the best until last." His mumbled softly. Suddenly, he let me go and disappeared into our room for a minute. He returned with a small royal blue box in his hand. In that instant my heart began to beat at the speed of light.
"Jack..?" I muttered nervously as he stepped closer. His expression softened from worry to a smirk.
"Don't worry Punzel, I'm not proposing...yet." He laughed. I exhaled in relief.
"Good! I've only just turned eighteen!" I chuckled awkwardly.
"But I do have a ring." Jack interrupted my nervous laugh. His expression was still a smirk. "It is a promise ring." He opened the case revealing a silver band that had a golden sun.
"Jack, it's amazing!" I breathed in awe. Carefully, he took the ring from its box and held it up.
"It has a matching moon ring." He smiled as he held up his hand, the twin moon ring was already on his ring finger. Slowly, he pulled off his ring and clicked the two together. "Rapunzel, this represents a promise to one another, we are each others and always will be, I'll have you all to myself and you'll have me. One day this promise ring will be replaced with and engagement ring, because that is how serious I am about us. I want a future with you. But only if you accept my promise." Jack croaked. The tears sprung from my eyes and pattered down my cheeks.
"Of course I promise!" I exclaimed happily. Jack's grin extended into a full genuine smile. He unclipped the rings and placed the one with the sun crest onto my left ring finger before slipping the moon one back onto his. Rapidly, I launched myself into his arms and kissed his lips with as much passion as possible.
"I love you so much Punzel!" Jack cried into my neck as he held me.
"I love you too Jack." I whispered into his ear. Suddenly, Jack swept me off my feet and carried me bridal style back to our room, kicking the door shut behind him.
