"Michael!" I'm pulled out of my half sleep by a shriek coming from my room. I groan.
"What, Ally?" I call back.
She comes running out of my room, pure terror in her eyes.
"There is a huge ass motherfucking spider on your wall, Mike! Kill the damn thing!" She cries, clutching a pillow to her chest.
My eyes widen. Ally almost never swears.
"How big?" I ask, getting scared myself.
She makes a circle with her hands, about the size of half of her head.
"No way." I say, swallowing hard. She's lying. She has to be lying. She nods slowly.
"Let me see." She's exaggerating. There's no fucking way-
"HOLY MOTHER OF ALL THINGS EVIL(lol Satan)!"
"I told you! Kill it, Michael!" Ally says from the hallway.
"I'm not going anywhere near that thing!" I back away quickly, running into Ally on my way out.
"Well, I'm not either!" She huffs.
We hear the sound of a door opening followed by a very grumpy, "This is the second time you've woken me up! This better be fucking good."
Luke steps into the hallway, rubbing his eyes. "What the hell, guys! It's-" He pauses to check his phone. "4:22 in the morning!"
"Oh, Luke, it's good." Ally says, exasperated. "Go look at the spider on Mike's wall and tell me it isn't good."
Luke scoffs. "It can't be that bad, you pussies." He steps into my room and Ally and I hold our breath.
"Where is- oH MY GOD!" Luke comes running out, wide eyed. "Alright, what kind of prank-"
"IT'S NOT A PRANK, YOU ASSHOLE!" Ally shouts. "It gave me a heart attack!"
"Luke, you better kill it before it kills us." I realize I've been using Ally as a type of shield and let go of her bare shoulder where the sweater has fallen.
"No way! I've never even seen anything that big!" He steps behind Ally.
"Hey, hey, hey. I'm not a shield. Get in front of me." Ally says, shoving us in front of her. "You're supposed to protect me, you babies."
I look at Luke. "We have to go to Kenzie's."
He shifts uncomfortably. "Or Calum's. Kenzie probably thinks I'm an idiot."
"Why?" I ask.
"She beat me at Black Ops." He replies meekly.
"God, Luke. No one cares." I laugh a little. He looks down.
"Well," I sigh. "I guess we can go to Calum's, if you want."
"Uh-uh." Ally intervenes. "No. I'm not going to have him see me like this," She gestures at the baggy and rather beaten up clothing she's wearing. "For the first time. I can't show up on a hot guy's doorstep looking like a hobo."
Luke looks at her questioningly. she gives him a sharp look.
"What?" She dares him to answer with her eyes.
He shakes his head. "To Kenzie's, then."

Kenzie's POV
I'm up for my midnight snack(muthafuckin pixie sticks) when there's a knock at my door. I grab the rolling pin for protection and open the door slowly.
First, I see the new guy, Luke, with nothing but baggy basketball shorts on. He doesn't have his lip ring in, and his hair's all swept to one side.
I look over to see a tall blonde girl(not tall next to Luke, though) with curly hair and greyish-blue eyes. I notice that she's wearing the shirt Michael wore the other night and I feel a strange pang of jealousy.
Then I see Michael, with only very baggy sweatpants on. He has the slightest v-line and a well toned stomach, and he's barefoot.
His hair sticks up everywhere and he looks very tired. I notice that my mouth has dropped open and I close it, hoping no one noticed.
"Um, hi?" I throw the rolling pin onto the couch. "What's going on?"
"There's a huge spider and no one wants to kill it, so we decided to ask if we could stay here tonight?" Michael says quickly.
I roll my eyes. "Sissies."
"No, Kenzie, it's huge." Luke testifies.
"What the-" Calum says, walking out of my spare bedroom. He's been staying at my place because he's kind of scared of everything that's going on.
I notice Michael clench his jaw, and I wonder if he has some kind of grudge against Calum. What happened that night after I left?
"Oh, Jesus, Calum! Put some pants on!" Luke cries. I notice the new girl flushing a deep shade of red. She whispers something along the lines of, "I guess karma really is a bitch."
"I don't have to wear pants if I don't want to, Breadstick Boy." Calum retorts. I notice he's only in his boxers and I throw him a look.
"Hey, I thought you were on my side!" He exclaims. I sigh.
"Yeah, Michael, you can spend the night here." I shift on my feet. "But, one question. Who's the new girl?"
The girl's blue-grey eyes flit up to meet mine and I notice how long her eyelashes are.
"Oh, that's our friend Ally." Michael says. "She just- moved in, I guess you'd call it."
"Hi." Ally waves and smiles a little. I smile back as Calum walks closer. Ally averts her eyes and looks at her feet.
"Calum, seriously. You'll scare her away." I scold.
He laughs. "Sorry, Ally." He still makes no effort to make her more comfortable.
I shove him toward his bedroom. "Go on, dickhead. Show some respect."
He just laughs again and disappears into his room.
I invite them in and tug on the T-shirt I'm wearing. I don't mind just chilling in a big tee when it's just Calum and I, but it's kinda weird with Michael and Luke around.
"Some of you will have to sleep on the floor, though." I say. "Actually, all but one. I say we let Ally have the couch."
The girl begins to protest, but Michael stops her. "Sounds good." Ally closes her mouth and plays with the sleeves of her-of Michael's sweater.
I help everyone get settled in, then head for my room. It's almost 5 am.
After about five minutes, I hear a timid, "Goodnight, everyone. I love you all." From Ally.
"Love you, too." Michael and Luke reply simultaneously.
I realize now that she's like a little sister to them. They love her, and they'd do a lot to protect her.
"I love everyone, too!" Calum calls from the other room. I laugh.
"Goodnight, guys."
