Tonight was the night of the bonfire, and since it was the weekend Tala and I didn't go over to Sam and Emily's and instead we hung out with John as a "father-daughters" day. We took Tala out for lunch then ice cream and after that we went down to Seattle to buy stuff for her room. We made the day all about her since I could go out any day to get stuff for my room. I would probably steal Paul, Jared, Embry, as well as Jared's girlfriend, Kim, for some girl advice.
Since I am use to California's weather, I was not use to how cold it gets in Washington at night. I grabbed a pair of skinny jeans, a coat, scarf, hat, and gloves. I know to the locals I was going overboard, but I would rather be warm than cold. I grabbed extra clothing since I had decided to just stay over at Sam and Emily's tonight instead of driving back to the house. "John, I'm heading over to Sam and Emily's now." I yelled to him. "Have fun!" He shouted back from Tala's room.
I had met Paul over at Sam and Emily's and he, Jared, and I all went together to the bonfire. I was currently sitting in front of the fire, trying to stay warm as everyone gathered around. I immediately started to feel warmer when I felt a body sit next to me. I turned to look and saw Kim. I had only met her once before, and that was when she dropped by Sam and Emily's to pick up Jared.
"Jared told me you would be here this time. I was hoping we could officially meet each other and become friends." She told me. I smiled. "I would love that. I haven't really met anyone outside of the group of guys and Emily." I explained to her. "I mostly hang out with them and my little sister Tala." I continued. We continued to talk, and I was happy to finally be making a friend who is a girl. Now I could have some girly time.
(Paul)
He watched Trinity from a distance. She was sitting with Kim with a huge smile on her face. He hadn't seen her this happy before. It made him smile, knowing that Kim makes her happy. It would be perfect since Kim already knows the secretand she could help him out with telling Trinity.
He gave the two girls a few moments to themselves before coming over and sitting next to Trinity. "Hey." He spoke as he sat down. He noticed Trinity's face beam even more. He was glad he asked her to come, mostly because she was so happy at the moment. "Hey Paul." Trinity spoke up, still smiling. They all sat down, content as they listened to the Quileute tribe stories.
After the stories were over and everyone started to talk again, Paul turned to Trinity and asked, "Will you go for a walk with me? I have some things I want to talk to you about." He told her. He did not want to tell her everything just yet, but he wanted to make a few things clear. "Of course." She replied. She turned to Kim and said, "Give me your number so that I can contact you when I need some girl time." Paul stood up as they exchanged numbers and after they did so they said their goodbyes and Trinity followed him through the forest and to the beach.
"Trinity, I want to tell you something, but I'm just not ready to tell you yet, but when I tell you, I don't want you running away." Paul said turning to Trinity and closing the gap. Trinity smiled a small caring smile, touched that he genuinely cared about her enough to not want her to leave him. "Paul, you have my word that I wont run away from you no matter what you have to say." Paul smiled a sad smile as he turned away from her, still worried that she would. She had no idea what he was hiding from her. Trinity saw the smile and positioned herself to be in front of him again and she took his hand in hers, noticing how warm it was again.
"Paul, I'm serious. I highly doubt anything you tell me can scare me away. You are my best friend here, and I can tell what you have to say to me haunts you." She began, carefully choosing her words. "Whatever it is that you have to say, I know it is a big deal and a big part of your life. Trust me like I trust you. I will never run away from you." She said, meaning every word she said. She did trust him, she had a feeling that he would protect her no matter what.
