Our first date. The first of so many to come.

Why do I have to choose where we go? I'm not good at decisions on-the-spot at all. Not to mention, I have absolutely no dating experience whatsoever.

"Um.." My eyes wander about, my lips forming into a pout as I desperately search for ideas. Then it clicks. "I want to go wherever you want to go," I say, quite proud that I was able to rid myself of such a crucial decision.

"Eh?!" Marius' eyes widen for a moment, and as he too begins looking about the room, I suspect his worried expression mirrors what was just my own. "Well, if you want me to decide, I have a great idea, actually."

"What is it?"

"Just follow me," Marius says, taking my hand and leading me out of the hotel lobby. His hand is quite sweaty as he gently holds mine. Is he really that nervous? I look up to Marius to see his lips pursed into a thin line, as if in deep concentration. It's just me, so why? I should be the one nervous, since I'm on a date with an idol.

But, strangely, I can't feel nervous with Marius holding my hand like this. His hand, though uncomfortably hot and moist, almost seems to melt my heart with its fond warmth. And, most of all, he has this sort of happy, playful aura about him that relieves my worries so well.

Marius slips on his sunglasses before we exit through the hotel doors, slightly covering his identity. It's a bit disappointing, really, since the big lenses cover up his kind, pretty brown eyes. But it can't be helped.

Marius suddenly stops, and turns to me. He's still holding my hand, but his grips seems to relax and the hotness subsides. He begins digging into his pocket, and pulls out a big golden coin.

"Today we'll go on a Flip Date!" he states excitedly.

"A Flip Date?" I echo.

"Yes!" He holds the gold coin out towards me between his middle and index fingers. "Throughout the day, whenever we aren't doing anything, we each pick one random thing to do that we see as we walk down the streets, and make each one represent a side of the coin. Then we flip the coin, and whichever side it lands on, we do the thing!"

"Sounds fair," I say. I honestly love the idea--it gives a sense of excitement for the day, and we'll get chances to do things that each of us like. Besides, it'll give me a chance to get to know Marius' interests better. Speaking of which, there is something I want to do. I glance further down the busy street, eyeing a mall advertising the opening of a giant toy store. "Then, for my first choice, I choose that we go into the new toy store down the street. I call tails!"

"Eh?! How do you already know what you want?!" Marius exclaims. "I didn't even know there was a new toy store here." He takes a moment, too, to look around. "Ah! Then, for my choice, it'll be that we go into that hat shop over there," he says, pointing at a small hat shop nearby.

Marius flicks the coin into the air with his thumb, and expertly catches it flat on the back of his hand. "Tails. You win, Eri-chan!" He then shifts the hand holding mine to lift it from the back, palm up and open. He places the gold coin into my hand with a smile. "Eat it, it's your reward," he says.

"What?! Eww!"

Marius breaks into a loud laugh. "No, no! It's chocolate! It's a chocolate coin, I swear!"

"Oh." I giggle a bit, and peel the wrapper off, popping the brown center into my mouth. It melts on my tongue almost immediately, and I let myself savor it as I walk by Marius' side to the toy store.

Inside, it's like a child's paradise. Screaming and laughing children run about the store, carrying big toys, with their worried mothers chasing after them desperately. There are large signs directing to certain sections, like Video Games, Baby Toys, Pokémon, and...
