Things Are Getting A Bit Crazy

Soon Sou fell asleep and headed off to bed, and Marius got in the shower several minutes ago. Shori too seems exhausted from the concert, but seems too far into his video games to care. Kento's practicing some dance moves in front of a mirror, and Fuma is on his phone. Meanwhile, I'm simply sitting on the couch beside Shori, blankly watching him play, thinking over the events of this past day.

I arrived in Japan yesterday for a vacation with my mom, and happened to find my soul mate along the way. Not to mention that he's some big superstar idol.

I look down to check my phone. It reads 10:07 p.m.

Oh, shoot! I need to tell Mom!

I swipe open my phone and immediately tap away at the keyboard.

Me: Mom, I'm going to be home at around 11:30. I'll tell you why once I get back. Love you.

I press the blue 'Send' button and click my phone off.

The door to the bathroom opens, and out arrives Marius, rubbing a towel on his ruffled, wet hair. He's wearing a loose t-shirt and baggy shorts, undoubtably his pajamas. However, his eyes are drooping with fatigue, and he hardly takes notice of the other three boys and I as he slumps towards his bedroom.

"I'm gonna go...to...bed....." he murmurs. "Goodnight..." Then he gently shuts the door behind him, and I can see a dim light shine through the crack at the bottom of the door. It turns off only a matter of seconds after Marius enters his bedroom. I feel a small tug at my chest, longing for Marius to have wished me a proper goodnight.

Somehow, Fuma seems to read my thoughts. He doesn't even need to look up from his phone when he says, "It's fine, Erika. He's always like that when he's tired. He hasn't forgotten about you."

I simply stare at him, unsure of how to respond.

Fuma glances up at me and clicks off his phone. "Erika, you don't need to worry about whether or not he's taken a liking to you. You two were chosen to be soul mates, right?" His face is firm but reassuring, not betraying any doubt in his words.

"But..."

"The rings never lie." Kento steps towards the couch and plops down beside Fuma. "Right?"

I suppose they're right--there haven't been many stories about failures with the rings, to the point that when accounting for the billions of couples in this world, there is basically zero chance of malfunction.

I suddenly feel something heavy land on me. I look to the side to see that Shori, with the gaming console loosely held in his lap, has fallen asleep, his head on my shoulder. Surprisingly he's not very heavy, but after all, he is the skinniest of the bunch. He has a very pretty sleeping face..I wonder what Marius' looks like.

Kento stands up and begins lifting Shori onto his shoulder, as if he'd already done it many times in the past. "I got him this time," Kento says, carrying Shori to his according bedroom and shutting the door behind him.

I'm now left alone with Fuma.

"So, Erika, you're quite a pretty girl, aren't you?" He says, studying me up and down briefly.

"Um, thank...you?" I'm not sure whether I should feel uncomfortable or not--but I take it as an odd and sudden compliment.

"And you seem to be fun, have proper hygiene and manners, and be morally good. And you don't give any impression of being dumb. A type of girl that most guys would want, yes?"

"Um.."

Fuma snorts and chuckles. "Don't worry, I'm not hitting on you. I'm just saying, what would the fans think of that?"
