Chapter 23: Punzie

I glanced at him from across the room, but he was watching the teacher intently.

Charm is his favorite class.

I knew because in this class, he was always getting his work done on time and listening.

But it's different today, he won't look at anyone.

I should have agreed to leave.

I could still feel his strong back, and the way my arms felt around his neck, so natural.

But I couldn't have left even if I wanted to.

My mother- er- the witch, cast a curse, before I completely escaped.

The curse is in my hair.

As that witch cursed me, she told me that my hair wouldn't work, it wouldn't heal, until someone who loved it as much as she had, needed it.

But Mr. And Mrs. Disney helped me, when they set up a force field around the school, it somehow revived my hair.

The down side is that any time I step out of the force field, the curse remains, and it's becomes stronger, which by default makes me weaker.

And wishing for this horrible curse to be broken is like wishing to be trapped again, but I guess that's how my life is, always trapped, locked up somewhere beyond anyone else's reach.

I daydreamed about freedom for about 30 minutes.

"Class dismissed," Mrs. Potts stated, quickly causing students to rush out of the classroom like they all had super speed.

All but one.

Flynn was still putting his stuff in his backpack at his desk.

"Flynn, are you okay?"

He looked at me with his chocolate brown eyes and sighed.

"Its nothing, Blondie, I just, I need some to think."

"About what?" I asked curiously.

"Its none of your business."

What? What's he going on about?

"Are you confused about something? I can help."

"Just let it go."

"Flynn I ca-"

"Rapunzel!"

My eyes widened in surprise.

"Just leave me alone."

He grabbed his backpack strap and speed-walked out of the room just as the bell rang.

What was that about?

My mind raced with the possibilities, but I couldn't even think of one as I made my way to science.

"Hey, Punzie!" Anna shouted when she saw me.

I attempted to smile, but I couldn't bear being happy when Flynn wasn't. It just seemed wrong.

"What's wro-"

"Hey, uhh, Anna, umm, what's does paragraph five, page forty-two mean?"

The voice came from behind her, and she turned around to face a big, blonde guy.

I watched as he attempted to hide behind his bangs.

She, on the other hand, was smiling from ear to ear.
