CHAPTER- 30
Happily ever after
Aarav’s POV:
I am getting late! Shit! This damn phone always rings at the wrong time. Go away you annoying thing, I don’t have time for you. I thought in my mind.
Hauling out the cell phone from the inner pocket of my tuxedo, I stared at the screen. Unknown number. It probably would some call from the bank or Airtel network asking me to buy this or that scheme. Argh. Ignoring the call, I pushed the silent button and put the phone back in my pocket.
Pushing through the crowd, I entered the building of my supposedly new office that is if I am able to qualify this interview. Finally, when I was nearing the elevator that would take me to fifth floor, I saw the door of elevator closing. How typical! My mind prompted.
Great! Now this resembles every other movie, where the hero tries to catch his flight/train and the door closes in his face. Frowning, I walked faster and just in time stepping inside the elevator.
A sigh escape my lips, while the swept the imaginary sweat from my forehead. Looking around the elevator, I saw a cute girl, dressed in professional attire. Maybe she is also here for the interview. I will be damned if I had to compete against her. I thought mildly.
Stepping out of the elevator, I noticed that the girl did not stop at the fifth floor. Maybe I am not competing against her after all. Taking few short steps I reached the reception. Taking out the appointment letter I showed it to the woman in blue. Wow, she looked hot! I grinned.
Ah man, hold your horses. It isn’t like you to check every other girl out on this planet!
“Mr. Nehra, Sir will make a call for you shortly. Please be seated.” She gestured towards a large sofa at the entrance of the hall, beside the reception. Adjusting my tie, which almost felt like a rope around my neck, I loosened it a bit.
Just as I was about to sit, the phone in my pocket again started ringing. Cursing under my breath, I took out the cell; it was again an unknown number. It could be some mobile company pestering me for all I know! I sighed. Maybe I should just pick up the phone and get over with it.
“Mr. Nehra, Sir is waiting for you in the cabin.” The receptionist with the cute smile called out to me. I smiled back, “Thanks, I’ll be there in a minute”.
With the mobile in my hands, I debated my chances. This is could be important? The call ended. But the caller I think had some urgent issue, as it started vibrating again. I sighed, recollecting myself. Oh God! What does this person wants? I am having crisis right now!
I finally decided to attend it. Just as I pushed the green button, something tugged at my heart. Quite strange. “Hello?” I said with a tone of irritation in the speaker, if this is some prank or some mobile company messing with me, than I sure as hell going to sue them!
