Love is frightening thing. Sure, its beautiful in its beginning stages, but as time grows, feelings stop. The pure, beautiful, mushy puppy love that once was there is now forced smiles and cold laughs and hurtful arguments over the stupidest things. The kisses, the hugs, all turned cold and deadly.
Of course, not every relationship was like that. In some, the puppy love stays. You never get tired of seeing your loved one's face, all you want is to make them happy. So that's what you do. And it's all cute and sweet till death do you part.
Frank knew this. Gerard, on the other hand, that was a different story. Gerard hadn't loved someone in a long while. Sure, he loved his mom and his brother on most occasions, but having an intimate relationship and the whole 'I love you' thing, not so much.
Gerard wasn't too sure about love, but he knew deep down, that he really truly did love Frank. He hadn't felt this strong of a feeling towards someone before, but Frank was different.
It was all paranoia.
Gerard thought that Frank would leave him. He thought that Frank would just drop him, just up and leave one day, never to see him again. Gerard had thought of a lot of things when it came to his Frankie, but most of those were irrelevant at the moment.
Gerard knew Frank wouldn't do that to him. Frank was troubled enough. He needed Gerard, in a since. Sure, he was just fine on his own. But Gerard protected him. Frank loved that.
"So, what's going on in that pretty little head of yours?" Frank asked, giving the menu to the waitress.
"Aren't I usually the one to ask you that?" Gerard replied, smiling.
"Yes, but the tables have turned, haven't they?" Frank took a sip from the water glass, trying to hide the fact that he was totally not choking. "Ah yes, thanks for the help. Such a great boyfriend! Gerard Way, everyone!" Frank chuckled as he slowly quit coughing, and Gerard just smirked.
"You know what I want, Frankie?"
"A pair of fuzzy pink handcuffs? Yeah, me too. All jokes aside." Frank smirked back.
"No. Yes. Wait, what? Anyways, I want to go to art school." Gerard replied.
"That's fantastic! You'd be great! It's not like you need the extra teaching or whatever, but that would be amazing." Frank knew Gerard had a bit of motivation in him. "I wanna be a tattoo artist.." Frank sighed. "But I highly doubt they'll ever happen."
"Hey kiddo.. Don't get all sad on me. It's Valentine's Day after all! Keep hope. I think you'd be a great tattoo artist." Gerard ruffled Frank's now short hair, making the younger groan and attempt to fix it.
"Really? You think I'd be good? But I'd have to go to college..and I dropped out of high school.." Frank replied.
"So did I. But if you want to be something, keep on it. Don't lose hope. Think about it every day, every night, every time you get down. Think about what you aspire to be. And one day, you'll make it."
"I want to go to Philadelphia. They have a cool art school. They offer a graphic design program too, which would be good for the both of us. I also want to stay with you. For a long time. I want to get an apartment together. We can live together. I'd make you pancakes and all your favorite foods and we could annoy our neighbours with our insanely loud music.."
"And your insanely loud moaning, don't forget that.." Gerard piped up. Frank glared at him, carrying on.
"And we could watch horror movies and go to weird shops and take pictures and make art together and just be Gerard and Frank.." Frank had wanted this since day one.
"I would love that, Frank. Sounds like the best plan we've ever had." Gerard replied. Gerard had knew about Frank wanting to go to Philly and he was going to make sure that dream happened.
"We?" Frank asked, puzzled as to why Gerard chose the words he did.
Gerard smiled and pulled two plane tickets from his pocket. "We're going to Philadelphia, Frank. And we leave Friday."

Frank was extremely excited, planning his future the whole way home. Little did he know that Gerard had already bought an apartment for them, and ordered some furniture.
The lovers were packing their bags, checking to make sure they had what they wanted before their little friend from the front desk drove them to the airport.
"Hey, maybe we could keep in touch. Here's my number and Frank's. You should come visit us." Gerard told the boy.
"Thanks, man. That sounds great. I hope you guys have a fabulous life! And good luck with college. Enjoy Philadelphia, boys." The boy with the fluffy hair said, hugging the duo as they said goodbye.
"I'll talk to you later, kid." Gerard called, taking Frank by the hand, leading him towards the gate.
"My name's Ray. But goodbye. Shall we meet again, boys.." Ray sighed as he watched the boys he had grown to be friends with leave, getting ready to make their mark, achieve their dreams, and become something better than a stupid manager at a shitty hotel.
So there's probably gonna be 1-2 more chapters left.. *sigh* That makes me sad.. I've loved writing this...
Anyways...
