*Dean's P.O.V*
**a few months later**
He grabbed my arm and I felt the slicing, searing pain. The mark of Cain. First the apocalypse, and now this. As the rage took over my body I watched as I killed Sam, lobbing his head off without a care before moving on to Carson, I cut her neck and as the blood began to stain her shirt and the life drained from her eyes I sat up sweating, holding my arm.It was just a nightmare.
"Dean are you okay?"
"I'm fine Cars, just a bad dream."
She knew what it was about.
"Your going to be fine, I trust you." She laid her head on my chest, wrapped in my arms. She trusted me not to hurt her..ever, and I wasn't sure if I could keep that promise or not.

Dean went into the barn, he said he had to do this alone. I sat outside in the ground, gun in my hand, Cas by my side.
"You seem upset, Carson."
"I am Cas, we finally end the apocalypse, which took everyone else we loved with it, and now this happens. Dean doesn't deserve it. Nether does Sam."
"Neither do you, Carson. You are the best of all of them."
As soon as I finished talking we heard screams from inside, and a door open. This was our time- we all came into the barn to see Cain dead in the floor.
"I had too, I had too, I had too." Dean muttered under his breath. I place my hand on his shoulder and he lost it. My back hit the floor and be pointed a knife at me.
"Stay back." He warned Sam and Cas.
"I'll be fine."I promise them. I look into Dean's eyes- black and seemingly soulless. He pressed the knife harder on my throat.
"Dean it's me..." I dead panned. I saw his face strain. He just couldn't get control.
"Dean, I love you, come back to me." Slowly his eyes faded back to hazel, deepened with sadness. He wiped the small bit of blood from my neck and held me, his head in my chest. I leaned back, trying to catch my breath.
"I'm so sorry." He whispered.
"Let's just go home."

When we got back Cas had a demon in the basement.
"Why is he here Cas?" I inquired.
"He may know about getting rid of the mark."
As I left the rooms the screams slowly silenced behind me. I sat on the couch and put my head in my hands. Sam sat next to me.
"Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, you know I like you much better now that you have your soul back." He laughed at me.
"I like everyone better too." I laughed a little harder then I should've and punched him in the arm.
"Sammy, that's not funny."
"Oh, c'mon Carson."
"Okay maybe a little funny."
"Are you really okay though?"
"It's just one thing after another and I need some time to wrap my head around this. You know, Dean could end up never being Dean again."
I laid my head back into my hands. Sam's hand laid on my back.
"Just get some rest everything will be fine." He pulled me into a hug. I got up and laid back on the couch.
*Dean's P.O.V*
I didn't see red like most people say, I saw pristine, crystal clear. Everything was enhanced and I needed to kill. But I wouldn't. I couldn't take anymore of the screams I created I pushed away from the demon and walked up stairs. I immediately calmed when I saw Carson laying on the couch, sleeping limply. I pulled her into my chest and carried her to the bed, half way there she opened her eyes. Clearly frightened by the fact I may be trying to kill her, or love her. I set her on the bed.
"I love you." I whispered, to let her know she was safe. She pulled off the jeans and got under the covers, I followed the suit laying next to her. She rolled over and looked at me, an almost depressing look in here eyes. She rolled over and opened the drawer, grabbing her face wipes.
"Come here." She almost whispered. Wiping my face. I look at the wipe, the red blood that has streaked through the material. I smiled and pushed her hair out of her face.
"We're going to be all right." I kissed her forehead as she went to sleep, her light breathing making me feel more human then I had in a while.
"I love you." I whispered, but she was already dead asleep.

My eyes flashed open early the next morning, except the weren't exactly mine. They were a thick black color. Deeper then any soul yet so shallow.
*Carson's P.O.V*
I woke up and looked at Dean, his eyes coal black. I rested my hand on his chest and felt him calm beneath my touch. His eyes closed then re-opened to their usual hazel-green.
"Stay with me." I whispered, face turned to him on the pillow.
*Dean's P.O.V*
She laid, on her back next to me, hands resting Palm-up by her face. Her hair splayed out on the pillow in waves her face resting in some of it looking up at me with big brown eyes. the sun shone on her skin and the cream sheets , making her look golden, flawless.
"I'm right here." I looked at the dark chiseled line of her cheek bone.
"Always." I said and kissed her cheekbone near her ear.
She was the only one who could completely bring my back, she was my anchor.
***
I kicked in the wood door of the old house, determined to find Carson, to find her alive. We went down the stairs and I saw her hanging limply from a chair. Sam put his hand on my shoulder before I opened the door.
"Wait until we know what we are dealing with."
The demon came forward and asked Carson where I was.
"I will NEVER tell you shit, dick bag." The demon punched her in the face and she smiled a bit, spitting out blood.
"Oh, c'mon now sweet heart. You have to do better then that."
I couldn't wait any longer I ran in and stabbed the demon, before either of us could get to Carson more demons started to pile in. I took a few hits to the temple before everything faded to black.
I woke up to find myself and Sam tied and on the floor, angled towards Carson, mouths taped shut.
"You see, Dean. We wanted you here, revenge for Cain, but it would be so much sweeter to watch you suffer instead."
Carson struggled to hold her head up as they cut above her collar bone, blood trailing down to her shirt. She didn't even flinch, just stared straight ahead. I tried to scream for her but nothing happened.
"Stubborn bitch, maybe this will do the trick." He picked up her wrist and slit it. Before leaving he untied Sam, who untied me. Tears stained my cheeks.
I rushed over to Carson who fell into my arms as we untied her. I ripped a part of her already tattered flannel and tied it around her wrist, adding a second one after.
"Stay with me." I begged, tears falling freely now. She leaned up and whispered.
"I love you, I always will." I pressed my lips to hers until I felt her body go limp beneath me.
"No, nonononono." Sobs racked my body as I put my face in her shoulder. She was gone.
"CAS, CASTIEL!" Sam yelled from behind me.
*Sam's P.O.V*
He arrived in a white flash, confused to the tears on my cheeks. He turned to see Carson and Dean.
"I'm sorry Dean, I can't fix that."
I felt my knees buckle under me, Carson was dead. My mom, my big sister, Dean's wife, the one I could talk to. She. Was. Dead.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry, please don't hate me. I promise I have a way to make you feel better!!
This has to happen for the story to end on a better note!
So I hope you enjoy besides the end.
Ily!
