Daily Manila - Keeping Up With... Maine

It has been months since the announcement of the break of nation's favorite tandem and from the success of our Pambansang Bae's Teleserye, there seems to be no signs of the love team to return on anyone's TV screen anytime soon.

But we've heard enough about Alden, with his constant press attention for his new album and recent allegations of being linked with his costar, Rachel Garcia, we seem to have forgotten the other part of the equation of Aldub; Maine Mendoza.

So what is it that our Menggay is up to?

Just a few months back she had no problem scheduling an interview with us at Daily Manila, but now that her career seems to be at a cool off period, rumors have said that she preferred it this way. No interviews and shoots. Just Eat Bulaga.

Ano ba yan?? Nagpapamiss si Meng!

Luckily for me, I have grown close to the beauty and was allowed to ask a few questions over the phone.

How is our former Yaya doing? Kita namin, host ka na lang at kakulitan nang JoWaPao.

Oo nga eh. (she laughs) Mabuti naman. Easy going lang ang life.... Going with the flow of things. But I like it. Hindi stressful and todo ang family time.

Miss mo ba si Yaya?

Minsan, pero kasing kulit ko naman sya at nakakapag salita naman ako so pwede na ako maki joke from time to time.

(Of course I couldn't help but ask about Yaya's former flame.) Eh si Alden naman?

How did I know this would lead to that? (she laughed again) Miss ko of course, best friend ko yun eh... Pero he's busy and I understand that. He has his career and I have mine.

Naguusap pa kayo?

Um, here and there, yes. Pero like I said, busy sya and pag free naman sya nasa labas ako, shooting for All For Juan. So scheduling conflicts. But sometimes nakakapag text kami, kamustahana. Ganon lang.

Ganon lang? (Nakakaheart break naman!)

Oo. Busy eh. But I'm happy for him. He's doing what he loves.

Syempre, I wanted to ask how she felt about the RachDen but I felt like it wasn't my place or the right time. Mukang happy and sounds happy si Meng and I didn't want to be the interviewer to ruin that. Besides, close na yata kami.

(txt) Alden: You sound like Rachel. lol Kaya ko pa to. Don't worry.

(txt) Maine: Balita ko pala kayo na. Congrats.

(txt) Alden: No... Not yet ;)

(txt) Maine: May pawink-wink ka pa! lol. Sige na. All For Juan na! Magparamdam ka naman from time to time. Miss ka na nang family ko.
